re: Adding my podcast to the zune social

I have submitted my podcast and have been patiently waiting. I believe its been a couple of months now, so I'd rather make a post about it seeing as how some people from the zune product team seem to bounce around in here.

I was wondering the same thing about our podcast--it's literally been MONTHS.  Calls to Microsoft for an answer got me nowhere.

Today I decided to manually add my podcast feed URL to the Zune software.  It downloaded 3 of the latest episodes, and all the titles, etc.  But it won't play my .mp4 files.  It states "Can't Play -- This item is already in use. Close any programs that might be using it, or stop playing it and then try again." Error code C00D0FCF (80070020)

Here's the thing--I just booted the computer, started the Zune software, so I know it's not already in use.  It must be the format of my H.264 .mp4 files.  It just doesn't like it.  I'm going to try formatting it to .wmv and see if it will play.  Very frustrating, since the specs state that H.264 files are supported.

The point is, I noticed your feed enclosures are for .mov files.  You might be running into the same thing.

Try manually adding it to the Zune software and see if you can get them to play:

collection > podcasts > add a podcast

I'll let you know what I find out as well!

I downloaded another active podcast in the marketplace and got the same error.  What's the deal with this software?

Anyway, I hooked up my Zune and synced my podcast and sure enough, it plays just fine on my Zune. 

So I have no idea what's going on... with the error, or why it takes so long to get podcasts added to the marketplace.

Can anyone shed some light?

lildude213 - TrailerTV - Movie Trailers Podcast needs the following changes to be listed in the Zune Marketplace:

• bigger album art image (at least 200x200), current size is 128x128 and that's too small
  
• enclosures in Zune-compatible format like mp4
  

dukenetworks - mp4 enclosures in podcasts are fine, you are correct. What is your podcast feed URL, please? I'd be happy to look that over and either get it listed or let you know what needs to be fixed so it can be listed.

So I figured that someone has been STEALING my viewers by copying my feed and submitting it to the marketplace. I would like to request that it be taken down.
