re: Multi CD albums on Zune device problem???

OK.  I recently purchased a Zune 120gb.  I love it.  I finally migrated all of my 90+gb library into the Zune Software on my PC (e.g. getting all of the album art correct and combining multi-disc sets)

The problem I have is with the device.  While the Zune PC software shows a to CD set with Track #, Disc # and seems to play them in correct order (i.e. Tracks 1 - X from Disc 1 followed by Tracks 1 - N from disc 2 and so on) the Zune device plays ALL of the track 1's and then ALL of the track 2's, etc.

How do I correct this?  Do I need to go in to each title on the PC and change these to look like 1 CD with X + N tracks?

Known device missing feature.  Until it's fixed, yes... numbering them sequentially in one album is a good fix and, as a bonus, is universally compatible.  (The disc tag is ignored by many devices and applications.)

Yeah, I searched the site after I posted and learned that this has been previously reported.  I agree with others who say fix it to work the same in both the PC software and the device.  I do not care which.

One of the problems with the suggested solution is that the "Find Album Info" feature will combine disc 1 & 2 automatically if it realizes these are the same title.  (It's a pain in the butt to undo this.)  It will set the meta data correctly.  I now must undo what the zune desktop software has done because a jr programmer can't take the 30 minutes to implement what must be a fairly simple fix for the device (I've been developing software for 20 years - so I know this is not rocket science)

BTW:  I had been managing my library with RealPlayer for use with my Creative Zen USB 2.0.  Never have I had to spend so much time fixing up metadata so that the a player would work correctly.  (I have the Zen, Zen Micro, and a SONY Walkman)  Frankly the SONY Walkman was the easiest to use and manage w/o any additional time spent.  (of course, this is why my wife likes that device)
