My first Zune game - Album Puzzle

Hi! I can't find a place where developers can post their games, so I will post it here - sorry, if this is not an appropriate place! I really wish there was something like Zune Games Marketplace, or even better Zune Free Games Place!

It is a classic sliding puzzle game that uses the album art on your Zune for the puzzles, and plays a song from the album when you solve its puzzle. You can download the game from here: http://ivo17.net/download/AlbumPuzzle.zip . The zip contains one .ccgame file, which you can use to install the game on the zune (you will need XNA Game Studio 3.0). I hope you like it!

Awesome! Good job, I'm assuming you made this yourself? Either way it's a fun little game.
By the way there's no official place on the site yet, but you can go to zuneboards.com or darkzune.com.
They'll take your games and put them on a list along with all of the other completed games, you might know that but just in case figured I should tell you.

I can't prove it, but I can say it.

Hey, I made a topic at ZuneBoards for you.  Comment, add, do whatever you want here: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/restricted-games-applications/38634-album-puzzle.html#post353459

If you want, I can delete it too... but we'd all rather see it, and lots of people will download it if you put it over there.

re: My first Zune game - Album Puzzle

Thanks! Yes, I made it myself. I started testing how the XNA Studio works and I had a little game at the end.

I will check those web sites and I will try to post the game there - thanks for the suggestion!

ObanNeat, here is one screenshot: http://ivo17.net/albumpuzzle/puzzle.jpg - can you guess which album this puzzle is from, hahaha? I can make more screenshots, but this is the general idea.

re: My first Zune game - Album Puzzle
I'm really happy to see this game there was one similar to yours but the developer never updated it from beta and I've missed having a album puzzle game ever since. Thanks alot for making the game. I do have a couple of suggestions when I press up the puzzle goes down and when I press right it goes left it's hard to get used to also touch support would be great on this. thanks again for making the game.

re: My first Zune game - Album Puzzle

Thank you, DannisSpace! I didn't know about the other game, but I am glad that other people thought of a similar game. Let me answer your questions. You control the empty tile with the touchpad, so when you press Up, the empty tile goes up, so naturally the tile there will have to go down. I have always played this game like this, and I can't even imagine it the other way around - hahah. The reason I didn't use the touch feature of the Zune pad is that it is too sensitive, and the tiles will be flying around. Even like this, the game drives me crazy when I click a diagonal direction by mistake, and then the empty tile moves two times, up and right for example.

I am thinking of what other game to make. I want it to be something related to music or pictures, since it is going to be for the Zune. If you have any ideas, feel free to share!

re: My first Zune game - Album Puzzle

Funny, I've always done it with down moving the piece down into the empty slot.  Maybe that could be an option?  What other plans do you have for this?  My only other suggestion would be to have an option (or just have it) show numbers for each piece.  I don't know half of my album artwork, so I have issues even getting started.  Do you know what I mean?  Just have a 1 by the piece that needs to be in the top left, a 2 on the piece to the right of it... etc.

There's a lot of (usually impossible) ideas here:  http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/game-requests-173/

Of course, there's some good ones too, like WarioWare and Zune Bowling
