Lawsuit
Any Lawyers looking into this mess. I think a one year Zune Pass should cover it and replacement if they don't find a fix.

I dont know if I want another Zune if they cant fix it.  I want them to refund me for mine tho and if they can fix it then yeah a free zune pass might make me forgive them.  A year isnt long enough tho.  They need to make it lifetime.

Yeah....1 day without service=1 year Zune Pass. I don't think so.

Let's wait and see what happens in a day or so...cooler heads must prevail.

BTW, I have three 30gb Zunes, so I'm feeling the pain. Let's give Microsoft a chance and then take it from there.

Jesus Christ, your all ready to crucify Microsoft for a simple software glitch. Maybe some of you cheap bastards, who are always trying to get free ***, get off your asses and go buy the CURRENT gen Zune! The original Zune is practically ancient when it comes to portable devices. Your not going to get a refund on your device unless its still in warranty, which chances are it isn't since they haven't even sold the 30gb (new) for almost a year. Cheap skate freeloaders, get a life.

I can bet some slimy lawyer (or a thousand) are already trying to file something in court for the users.  If you flick a booger the wrong way, a lawyer will be there to try and sue you for it.

I was waiting for the inevitable "lawsuit" post... thanks for being predictable.

So you should get a paid service for free for one year because your mp3 player isn't working (as of now) for a few hours? i wanna buy a plane ticket to whatever planet you are living on.

Microsoft is working on a fix. They are not stupid, this is a massively unfortunate event as all the Christmas gift Zune 30s are paperweights at the moment. I am sure a lot of great people are working new years eve just to make sure you can listen to your music asap.

If you car breaks down under warranty and takes a few days to fix, does Ford or Toyota give you a check for lost time, or offer you free gas for a year? No, and they would be silly to. Stuff happens, welcome to adult land where sometimes you just have to be a little inconvienced because it happens every now and again.

If we are still zuneless a week from now, we will have a real issue, but until then go go zune software party mode!

To be perfectly honest, I don't like the Zune Pass only because you can only keep 10 songs a month...that's not even an album, I find and I hate to say it because I am a BIG supporter of Microsoft that iTunes is cheaper and smarter than let's say Limewire where you just might not be sure if the song you're downloading is actually the song you wanted and not some remix or longer version.  I just want one thing from Microsoft right now, I just want my Zune to work and stop giving me the loading screen.   :(  TEARS (And no I'm not actually crying, I just want my Zune to work)  But I say a Zune Pass free for a year with more than just 10 songs of which we get to keep but I believe they should only use this for the sole reason that this mistake was theirs and that this a small gift for the inconvience they put upon us (Try going to the gym and not grooving to any of your music) inconjunction with giving us an update to fix our poor Zunes.

MOO-HAHA music rules the soul!!!

re: Lawsuit
your case will not hold up in any court. From what I've heard it is a simple software glitch. Something that will be fixed within one or two days. I highly doubt microsoft would give out free one year zune passes to people with that problem (that's about $180 for each zune that has the problem and no business would give out that much for free)

I have to agree that a 1 year zune pass is crazy. I would be happy with a couple free downloads. it won't cost Microsoft much since there are not many zune owners

What about the "great person" who forgot about the whole leap year thing? Sounds like Microsoft CEO material to me!

4 years until the next Zune meltdown! The countdown is on!

And I can't wait for that Zune Phone to come out, can you? Maybe it'll explode when you try to make a call! That'd be awesome! Welcome to the Social!
