digital copy movies
Well, I was planning on buying a zune soon (hey that rhymes), and recently Fox movies (AVP-R, and Hitman for example) come with digital copy versions.  Why won't the Zune Software let me use the videos?

Because those digital copies are DRM-"protected".
Just rip & convert the DVDs to wmv or mp4.

They are ripped as either mp4 or wmv to begin with though.

It might be the DRM licensing on the videos that is preventing it.  You would need to convert the files to unprotect it and remove the DRM information.  Zune doesnt like anything that isnt DRMd by themselves.

re: digital copy movies

Sorry, you can only officially use protected content intended for use with a Zune.  Attempting to circumvent the copy protection is illegal, and should not be discussed here.  Feel free to "complain" to the provider that their content is unavailable for your Zune.

Fox does not advertise it's supported on a Zune, only iPod & PlaysForSure devices (& WMP 11): http://www.foxdigitalcopy.com

Since you own the DVD it is not illegal to rip a copy from the dvd to use on your device.   Just search the forums here for converting video and look for information about dvd converting.

Or, if you are hard set on using the given digital copy, just remove the DRM with fairuse4wm. Ripping a DVD isn't any more legal than doing that, commercial DVDs are encrypted too.

halofanatic333, this forum is not to discuss illegal circumvention of copy protection, especially DRM developed by Microsoft. :)

Lets just say there are guides availalble on the internet, the tool only decrypts files you have keys for anyway.
