**FIXES For Most Common Issues
OK, after the upgrade, I was having many of the same issues that others here are experiencing. I was able to figure out a few of them, and others here helped me with others, so I thought I would compile them in one place so maybe it will help some of the newer people:

1) Jumbled and mixed up art and songs: Things were duplicated on my Zune and all mized up beyond repair, as well as in my "Collection." I did a variation of what was posted here. First, I nuked off everything on my Zune except the preloaded content to clean it up. Then, I nuked everything out of my collection, but chose the option to NOT delete the files. Then, go into settings and tell it not NOT automatically update album information. Then, I closed the Zune software. Then go into your profile folder and rename the currentdatabase_365.wmdb to currentdatabase_365.wmdb.old and the zunestore.sdf to zunestore.sdf.old. Now, reopen the Zune software. This fixed about 90% of my jumbled issues, although some were still messed up. For these, I determined that in my case, the "Album Artist" was what was messed up. To check this, click "List" in the Zune software. Album Artist is not displayed by default. Right-click one of the column headers and choose to modify, then check the box for Album Artist. This is probably what needs to be adjusted. This fixed all my jumbled issues. Then plug the Zune in and sync it, and things should be back to normal.

2) Cannot modify track number: Simply do this by going into the properties of the file. Zune picks up the change within a few minutes, or right after you restart the program.

3) C00D11CD error when changing files associations: This is a registry permissions error. Make sure that the user account has Full Control permissions on the following keys:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.MP3
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.M3U
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.AudioCD
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.M4A
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.M4B
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.M4V
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.MP4
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.PlayMedia
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.RipCD
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.WMA
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.ZPL
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.WMV
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.Zune.2.Shell.LaunchZuneShell

This fixed everything except for the M4V files.

4) Not picking up every file in monitored folders: I am still looking for a solution for this one.

I sincerely hope that these tips help someone. We all need to pull together to make this a better product....not simply to trash a product that we all believed in because it was different and a new experience. This can be a great product, but without productive input, we are going to kill their motivation to make it better.

I haven't tried to turn the meta auto update back on yet, but I plan to try it tomorrow to test it.

I'm going to go with this method actually WORKING!  10/10.  I turned the auto update on so it would add all missing data.  The items I had changed stayed as they were.  I then went through to dbl check as the zune software would often times revert back to some form of crack data before.  That also has stuck.  I did all this after turning the auto update back on, closing the program, and then editing the track info.  Good luck peeps this does look like the solution.

Good information - and sure enough - the Album Artist column was incorrect on the album that I kept trying to add to the collection that was coming up under another name. Even though this meta data was correct in the file system. But Zune would still change it right back when I tried to edit it in List mode. I was able to get it to accept it by changing the Artist Album slightly - apparently it 'remembers' the original value and does not let you change it back. This seems to be the issue with most of the post update tag problems.

Microsoft: What is it that the Zune is remembering? It seem that the problem has been defined very clearly - how about a fix?

Fantastic work! I hope the Zune team unpins all the other useless explanations and pins this one as an end-all solution.

re: **FIXES For Most Common Issues
Yay! That fixed the file association problem I had. Thanks!

Now if I could only edit the Zune's idea of Album Artist without it resetting it back I'd be happy.  Not sure I want to blow away everything yet again just to get these few right.  They're in the right album, just listed under the wrong name.  Hate to have to blow away my collection each time I enter a new CD that it doesn't get right.  Just make it read the file which is correct or stop changing my edits.
