re: WiFi Router Setup for Zune v3.0 - Zune Marketplace

I spent a lot of time on this one so I thought I would document for others what it will take to sync your Zune 80 (and presumably others).

After upgrading to V3.0 I was NOT able to connect via WiFi to Marketplace.  It would scan for networks but would return "No Networks Found".  Syncing to PC worked as it had previously.

Reading the forums I narrowed in on these 2 items that needed to be modified on my WiFi access point.

SSID - Must be set to "Broadcast"
WPA/WPA2 Mixed Mode - Must be disabled (if your router configures this manner)
WPA - Enabled
WPA2 - Disabled

I have encryption set to "TKIP" but I assume "AES" will work as well.

Zune support is aware of the SSID broadcast requirement and this seems like a necessary fix ASAP.
WPA2 doesn't seem to be supported for Marketplace but works for PC sync.

Hope this post helps others from having to spend hours like me to get WiFi marketplace working.

Wow that sucks, I have my SSID non broadcasting for security reasons. And enabling broadcasting it fixed my ability to get to marketplace wirelessly even though the zune device already had my correct network info when I setup the pc sync feature.
