Option to manually ener album data

I have a couple of albums which, when I ripped them, the software decided they were a particular album - which they weren't.  They now have artists/songs associated to the track that are incorrect.  Despite manually editing the metadata, everytime I play those songs, they show up as having played the original song the database decided it was.  I now have a bunch of plays for artists I don't even have.

In the search facility, it seems you have to pick one of the albums it throws up or cancel - which leaves it as the incorrect original data.  I understand that the Zune softare imbeds a unique identifier into each track to tie it back to a song on the marketplace.  Is there any way to disassociate this tag so that the informaion I have manually keyed in for artist/album/song does not get ignored?

Do I need to delete the tracks, rip them again using WMP, and enter the correct info there so that the Zune software doesn't take control before I can get the correct info loaded?

Did you try to use the "Find album info" feature and pick the appropriate album?

Right click on a song or album and select edit. Here you can edit the information to your heart's content.

Yes I tried "Find Album info", but it's not there. That's why I need an option of "Album not found - manually enter track info".  I have a number of albulms that do not match the database.  And yes, I know how to manually edit the info.  It doesn't change what song the system thinks it has played.  That's the point.  Despite editing the metadata manually, the unique ID is still linked to the incorrect album and track the software first detects and matches against.
