Zune Video Marketplace clarifications

Are there going to be any integrating features between zune and 360 as far as marketplace material is concerned?  I have bought a couple of shows on the 360 and am wondering if I will be able to port that over to the zune once the update is out.  Any help would be awesome.

re: Zune Video Marketplace clarifications
I'm not a microsoft rep but I would say that it would be hard to "port" your XBLVMP files to the Zune. This is because the resolution of the videos on the Video Marketplace are 720x480 minimum thus being way too big for a Zune 30/80/4/8.

Now, if there were to be implementation that would see you "bought" the video from the 360 marketplace and thus you were allowed to "download again" the video in the zune marketplace. That could be feasible I'm sure and would be a great idea.

re: Zune Video Marketplace clarifications
I went looking for this after the software upgrade, and it looks like even though my xbox 360 profile "owns" the content, Microsoft wants to sell it to me again on Zune Marketplace.  This is the DRM BS that has to end.  Seriously, I'm a loyal 360 fan with hundreds of dollars worth of video DLC on my 360, why can't I get access to that same content through Zune?  It's the same exact account, the only difference is in the interface in which I access the content.

re: Zune Video Marketplace clarifications
I have been wondering about this too, but am not at home to try.  I'm hoping that any TV content I had bought on 360 shows up for Zune.  Also I'm hoping that any content I buy from Zune can stream to all of my 360s.

I would think yes to both, but want to be sure.  I doubt MS would launch without this since Apple supports it via AppleTV \ iPod and I would think MS would want the same integration with 360 and Zune to compete.  For now I've been using Amazon Unbox since those can be downloaded to the PC to stream to my 360s and can be put on Zune.

Update:
There is some clarification in this thread:
http://forums.zune.net/216823/ShowPost.aspx

1) Zune purchased TV shows on my PC will stream to 360s.  Great. :)
2) 360 purchased TV shows will not be available to download on my PC / Zune.   This is unfortunate and needs to be corrected to compete with iTunes and iPod / AppleTV directly.
3) Zune purchased TV shows will not be available to download to my 360.  Not so much an issue b/c of 1.

I really think that you're not seeing the true picture here. It will stream yes. However, it will have to blow-up the 320x240 movie resolution to display on your 480i SDTV. If its your HDTV it will probably look worse since it has to blow it up even more.

Understood.  However, I have seen others claim the Zune sw downloads two copies, one for Zune playback and one for PC / streaming playback.  Would be nice to get confirmation if the resolutions are the same on both.

Either way, I think we both agree what MS launched with is not ideal.  360 and Zune marketplace need to be integrated as AppleTV and iPod are with regards to TV shows (and eventually Music).  Get the HD 360 content downloaded to the PC where it can be streamed to the various 360s and extenders around the house while being able to put a copy on the Zune.

I was just thinking, I hope this is not a sign of things to come with the next version of the xbox.

You are correct. I went along and bought an episode just to see. It does give you a 320x240 resolution Zune one titled "[TV Show]_Device.wmv" and a 640x480 resolution titled "[TV Show]_PC.wmv" It is because of this that I will never buy anything from the Xbox 360 Video Marketplace anymore. All my purchases will be from the Zune Video Marketplace. Each video is encoded at 1.5mbps (Which is REALLY HIGH quality).

And for those complaining about the DRMs, when you purchase videos from the Xbox 360 Video Marketplace it gives you that End-user license agreement saying that you agree that your purchase only gives you access to play the purchase on the Xbox 360 only. I've ripped my 360's Harddrive and the files you download for XVMP aren't even .wmv/.avi they are like chunks of an unreadable file that you cannot play on your PC, sort of like a .rar.00 file.

Do the WMV files you downloaded have DRM on them?  Can you play them on any machine/device, or are you bound to your one machine and the Zune player attached to it?

They do have DRM on them. They are basically read-only files. I cannot import them into Windows Movie Maker or Adobe Premiere Pro.

I have also tried using Nero StartSmart DVD Burner. I can burn them onto a DVD Data disc, but I cannot import them into making my own DVD Video to boot in a DVD player.

Zune video resolutions
Can anyone clarify what the specs on the downloadable content from the Zune Marketplace. I am sure they're encoded using .wmv but at resolution? Is all content done at 1.5 Mbps (which is not that high of quality)? Anyone know a URL where I can find these specs? Any mods out there with further info?
