Zune improvements - does Microsoft listen?

Where do we send requests for features and fixes directly to the team at Microsoft? It seems that the only place to log issues is here for the other Zune users to read. I would be comforted if the people in charge of making the software palatable were considering our inputs.

How about a ZDK (Zune development kit) that could be used for programming my own Zune interface. Perhaps MS could publish specs showing the file attributes and other details about the interface so that I could possibly construct something using VBA or ??? I realize anything I create would not be supported, but I would be much happier with a front-end that works the way I like rather than be constrained to the limitations of the Zune interface on my PC. (Hello MS, any thoughts?? Remember your tried and true "Explorer"-like interface or your standardized style of menus and control? I should have many more view/sort options such as the ability to see all podcasts by date as well as drilling down into each subscription.)

re: Zune improvements - does Microsoft listen?
So E zzl, think you got the stellar help you wanted? Just redirected to another useless list of threads that accomplish nothing. Except people wanting things for something that won't work. One of the hardware team is named Daklu, basically what I got from him was that first there is NO GUARANTEE that ANY ADDITIONAL features will be added to the latest version of Zune. That like after extensive market research that maybe some of these features would get added. That I was a tech savvy person and that's not where the market is aimed for Zune. They want mindless kids who will take what they get. Maybe a generation 3 product would have the features I wanted, so I told him same thing I told you, not buying it if you won't make the first one work or add anything to it in the form of useable updates.

Buy a 3rd gen. Zune to get features that 2nd gen. should have had! Are you crazy, stupid, or just have more money than sense?

re: Zune improvements - does Microsoft listen?
Let's see how about read any of my posts and see what the problems are, if they were fixable don't you think I would be? My help to others is to hopefully find a way out of this overpriced nightmare. Attitude is everything as they say and I get by just fine. Let me put this into over inflated terms that you can understand. If I paid $50,000 for a Ford Focus I would expect that it would come with some nicer features like what you may find on a Cadillac of the same price. However I bought what I thought was a Cadillac and it turned out to be a base model Ford Escort, no power windows, no power locks, no keyless entry. Well now that car doesn't work, you say go buy a new one, the company won't fix it, won't replace it, so what avenue does that exactly leave to us? Besides feeling scammed.

re: Zune improvements - does Microsoft listen?

zune doesnt advertise for fancy features that it doesnt have.  you just assumed the product had it all.  you made the assumption.  the zune is cheaper then an equivlent ipod, so why would it have more features.  the zune is not made by apple, so why would it have the same features.  the zune is just an mp3 player.  end of story.  you as a consumer should have done your research better.

you are right about attitude being everything.  your pissy little attitude is not helping the situation and it doesnt encourage me to want to help you. all its doing is feeding your anger and delusions about a refund. you didnt even buy it from MS.  they will not refund you.  no one would in this situation.  why dont you just calm down.  take a day off from thinking about your zune and then try to reapproach the situation again from the beginning.  there is probably stuff you missed because you where angry.

re: Zune improvements - does Microsoft listen?

Seriously where do you shop for electronics, because I stood in Target with the Zune 80 in one hand and the i-Pod Classic 80 in the other and looked at the price tag of $249.99 for both. As far as the research, when you call the 800 number prior to launch to find out about it, they were more than happy to give me a line of crap about how it is "more than equal to the i-Pod, feature packed" they said it not me, I didn't say maybe it would have this. In fact I was told the 30gb model had an EQ and that wasn't included for launch of the 80 but would be coming in an update, because it needed tweeking. So who lied to who? Or was I supposed to read between the lines if it ain't out now then maybe in the next 10 years it would get added to some product maybe not mine though. Why would MS charge the same money for an inferior product? Feature wise anyway. If you are trying to gain market share if you aren't comparing Apples to Apples (sorry for the pun) then why the same price, you would make up more on the back end at a lower price point because you can sell more and gain more interest. Instead of charging the same money for less product. I love the Zunepad, the menu, and the navigation. But its like having a Ferrari with a weedeater engine, looks nice but no horsepower. So if I can buy the fully loaded Ferrari from someone else, with a different paint job for the same price why not? Especially after getting lied to, and now no service.

As for fixing it I didn't even start on here being pissed off, I was only slightly mad at the fact that MS wouldn't and couldn't help and refered me to here. For that fact my anger was directed solely at the product once I saw there were no fixes and there were far more problems out there than just what mine had. Just started getting the bad vibes then. It wasn't until you and others got pissy with me and started calling me a dumbass and the such that I got so heated. So yeah that was a good way to start having my anger directed towards you more. Still doesn't change the fact you can't fix it any better than I can, and any better than anyone else can. Why because a fix doesn't exist and MS gives you the cold shoulder about fixing it because they can't right now either. So what choice do I have other than a return scam or demanding that the manufacturer of the device refund the money since they can't fix it. Do you really think that I want to blast people who have nothing to really do with the product other than being a user such as myself? Not really, just frustrated, suggested that they offer a refund for those that felt like I did. It's not that uncommon to request a refund, hell even grocery stores refund your money for food you don't like. That is something non reuseable. Why not just take back the ones from people who want out and then offer a second hand store, for refurbished slightly less cost units. That way if you like it and want it then you can buy one cheaper. However you and others decided to escalate the situation by bringing out the school yard BS, so if you can't offer me a fix then say so, if you don't care about my problems then don't respond. Obviously you have to put posts of the same nature around similar threads to maybe get an answer. Or find others of the same mindset. Simple as that, you leave the school yard shenanigans at the door I will too.
