re: Zune software 4.0 is very slow

Ghostboy78,

As I've said before, I've had experience with Zune 4 on lots of hardware configurations. And very consistently, it is incompatible with hardware configurations such as yours. Microsoft can only support old hardware for so long and still make a profit. I understand that you want to believe otherwise because you don't want to have to buy a new computer. But let me assure you - Zune software version 4 functioning normally is worth the wait - and the money! (You know, I am using it myself!)

Read my previous posts again. Netbooks with 512 MB RAM and less than 1 GHz CPUs run Zune 4 better than version 3 (graphics on basic, of course). Read the rest of this thread, and the other complaint threads (the longest is "Zune software 4.0 is killing my processor". Careful - these threads also contains complaints of similar issues with version 3), and you will see that most of the people with issues like yours (specificly, songs adding extremely slowly) also have hardware like yours! I should also note than when I tried Zune 4 on my 2000/XP machine to see what everyone was talking about, (again, similar hardware), I had the exact same result. I'll say it one more time - this isn't a problem with the software.

re: Zune software 4.0 is very slow

this software isn't worth a nickel more in hardware.  it isn't anything spectacular by any means.

i didn't have any real issues running the software on a P4 2.2GHz w/ 1GB of ram.  but that was a well tweaked machine.  i'd investigate your tags and consider a usb2.0 card or something, those could make a huge difference for you.

seems like you need to decide how much effort you're willing to put in to see if you can actually do it....

re: Zune software 4.0 is very slow

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but i'm having an interesting issue. Zune 4 works VERY slowly on my workplace computer, but it runs perfectly fine at my house.

At work I have a Core i7 920 with 12 GB DDR3 and a Radeon X1950 with an experience index of 5.9 on windows 7 ultimate x64.

At home I have the same os on a much more generic system. Core 2 Duo, 8GB DDR2 667MHz, with a 4.7 rating.

There is no reason why the computer shouldn't run the Zune 4.0 software (Even with advanced graphics enabled).

An example of running slowly: it take about 3 seconds to pause the music after i press the pause button on my keyboard, and navigating/searching for music takes just as long.

Edit: ... The issue seems to come and go, after a while it starts to work fine, then later it will happen again

you might be better off in a different thread...windows 7 prolly

i would recommend talking with your network admin, system security, a/v heuristics, could be anything.  good luck.
