re: Windows 7 and Zune
I have a problem whenever I plug in my 120gb Zune my external hard drive disappears. Wouldn't figure that that is where I keep all of my music, video's, and photo's? I have tried most of the fixes I that I have seen (even if it does not relate to my specific problem). I don't know where to go from here. I'm running windows 7 RC 64 bit please help.

re: Windows 7 and Zune
hmmmmm i'm having problems installing my zune itself and it keeps on saying error... Hopefully Microsoft can create a patch for it soon =)
I have tried all the solutions, such as reinstalling, running it as admin, restarting, and so on but nothing so far. Thanks your your help so far guys but I think a patch should clear all of this up.

re: Windows 7 Beta and Zune
I do have a problem with using Windows 7 with Zune software! It crashes shorlty after loading! Found that it has to somehow be related to memory and there are even hotfixes from MS, but only for Vista and XP and none willing to be installed on Windows 7! Could anyone help? No more syncing for me.....

re: Windows 7 Beta and Zune
I'm using the release version of Windows 7 Ultimate, and I installed the new version of the zune software when I got my HD this morning.  Haven't had a single problem as of yet and everything seems to be working fine.

re: Windows 7 and Zune

mrs puddin pop---i would look into the policies tab of the properties box of your h/d from the device manager.  look to see if your h/d is optimized for quick removal, change it if it is and see if that helps.

there is some way to keep that from happening, but i can't remember the settings for the life of me.  you may find more help in windows 7 forum honestly.

re: Windows 7 RC and Zune
I had the same problem... I think it was related to an older version of the Zune Setup being in the same TEMP file. Try deleting the old install files and re-downloading new install file, then installing (fixed it for me).

re: Windows 7 and Zune
Here's the problem I've been having, but it HAS somewhat died down after some tinkering with the firewall. Still a pain about once a week though. I am running the 64 bit version with Win 7 RC 64 bit. All drivers that could be updated for any hardware have been updated, FYI.

Sync fails about 1 out of 5 times with the device connected to the PC. I try to "Safely Remove Hardware" and that fails. In fact, anything plugged into any usb port fails to be removed, minus the bluetooth receiver for my mouse and keyboard. Then my internet no longer works (wireless USB adapter). So I try to restart, but the OS never reboots, just sits in limbo on the "Shutting Down" screen. I do a forced shutdown and reboot and everything is back to normal. Most of the time in doing so, the syncing works right away. It's only the Zune software giving me headaches with Win 7.

I moved from XP Pro to Win 7, so it's a learning curve I suppose. Just adding my two cents.
