Agreed. It is a shame that there is no lyrics support with Zune. It would be good to see simple tag editing that allows you enter the lyrics. It would be a great way to differentiate from iTunes.

Entering and editing lyrics is such a basic functionality that I am surprised it hasn't been implemented yet. Hopefully it is coming soon. WM10 and WM11 have it.

at this point in time the easiest/only way to add lyrics to the meta data is through WMP or the winamp widget right? whether i can read/access them easily doesnt matter i just want them there for safe keeping. Zune software had it, then took it away? u cant even add lyrics in explorer i dont think. maybe zune.net should have a place to talk about lyrics too, like songmeanings.com. HALF OF A SONG IS THE LYRICS I JUST DONT GET IT!!

We need this function! Hell, how many years have we been asking for it now? I'm getting the Zune HD on the release day, and I'm sadly not expecting a lyrics function.

Yes yes yes! To me, this is the last necessary piece to the artists view update to the Zune HD. Having pictures, artist and album info, related artists etc is one of the greatest features ever included with an MP3 player, lyrics would make the whole idea complete. Apps could make full use of the feature in a number of ways; kareoke, song trivia etc.

Allmusic.com is a great resource for artist and album info, and Zune has made great use of that resource. There are numerous lyrics resources available on the web, couldn't the same principal be applied?

Just putting my 2 cents in - I would definitely want the ability to add lyrics and marketplace content to have them already

Its obviously not gonna happen, this has been a community suggestion since second gen zunes. If anything, 3.5 or 4.0 would have brought it.

That doesn't take 1-bit of competition

maybe it's me, these are the Zune forums, and there are mods and members from the Zune team on here.. I would LOVE to think that the reason that they really don't post in the topics is that they are busy implementing our ideas and suggestions in update - it's a little disheartnig/frustrating that they don't really seem to be involved in the SOCIAL.,. I mean the only time that we really heard anything from them was during that customer service debacle with Zune originals and the Zune HD launch.,. and only after days of people griefing in the forums. Come guys, we know you are reading these,. some kind of communication with the social would be nice. =.,. Hell most of us have at least one zune and wouldn't this be a great way to connect with your community and paint the Zune as a 'friendly' environment? I mean, this topic is for talking back and wishlist items right?

Actually Songbird is another great way to add lyrics to the meta tags. I didn't use it for a while but downloaded the latest version and it has some killer options, of which one is that it automatically downloads lyrics.

So you've got lyrics on your device that are linked to their according song?

There actually is a field called "UNSYNCEDLYRICS" in the meta tag
