It wouldn't take long at all for the Zune team to develop that function.


I've just sort of lost some faith in them since now we get a software/device update every 5 months or so, and we rarely get the things we request, just marketing hooks mostly.

I agree, for WMP there is a plugin called MiniLyrics, I use that, you can download, sync, and share(upload) already synchronized lyrics.
I wish the zune software and device supported the plugin.

perhaps not constantly scrolling lyrics on the screen while the song is playing, but Zune definitely needs to make lyrics available to sync to the device and available to read at one's leisure. iPod has this feature and we can't let them beat us right?

i TOTALLY agree!!

i love reading lyrics so i can know the whole song instead of just the chorus

alot of people would really love to have lyrics, including me :)

for the new touchscreen zune coming out this fall, they should add lyircs, and if possible also on the current zune models

I do not think it is a matter of possibility, I think it is a matter of "Does anybody want to work on this?" over at the Zune development quarters.

I also truly can not believe this hasn't breathed any air yet either. It seems like such a simple feature that a lot of people has questioned about.

Oh yeah...you've got my vote for a "HELL YEAH". I'm really surprised that they didn't already implement this.  It's a huge selling point.  Why NOT have lyrics support?  A lot of other popular players have it.  Why not the best player on the market?

Since I have a hearing loss, it's very difficult for me to follow along with the words of a song.  I almost always have a copy of the lyrics of the song on my PC.  I'd like to have the option of syncing it to my Zune with the song!  That was I can read along and scroll up or down with the lyrics at my own speed.

If WiFi is enabled, we should be able to have a program to retrieve lyrics like TuneWiki.  But only if you don't already have the lyrics embedded or in a linked file to the music.

I'd also like to provide an SRT or other captions timecoded file that the video player can use to overlay captions on a video on the Zune. That would allow me to read captions of videos I have subtitles for.

The last would be the ability to have a karaoke mode where the lyrics are also timecoded with my music file and prompt me for which line to sing.  There would be options like how many lines to show, how to color the lyrics, size of the lyrics, etc.

I dont think that getting the lyrics from the internet is possible becuase of the zunes power but theoretically they already have a lyric support. .... For Podcasts they have description and that is just text in the files properties section just transfer over to Music with the Lyrics Box in properties

Im not very technically inclined so if this is not possible ignore this
