Some kind of Lost or Stolen tracking system PLEASE??

My daughter lost her brand new Zune she had gotten for Christmas (her only gift) it was the black 120 I paid $250 for it. Do you know if there is any way to track it or have Zune track it? I can not get tech support to answer the phone :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have the same sit. Only the 120 was My gift. And now it's gone. Got my teachers stalking out everything (since my teachers love me) and I'm starting to walk around with Zune's of my friends with the wireless on, looking for my name. It's sad. If the culprit took it home, I doubt I'll get it back. If I do, it'd be through intimidation and well placed people who will tell me everything I need. So now, Im going to be saving up my cash up and avoiding letting my Dad know it's stolen. Once I have most of the cash, I'll say something and buy it from him. I mean like. Buy as in Money paid back from him buying it. This sucks.

 If there anyway of tracking it if it's suspected still in the school? Out of school? Not sold and still in another student's possesion? Yeah.

w0w ppl are odd i made sure to research somewhat where i wanted to buy my zune from and i found that most electronic stores actually sell you insurance for your items, so i bought one for my zune and happy about it i never gotten mine stolen but i know if it does all i need is a police report and the store will replace it for me

i am goin to take it as that microsoft cant even track a zune when it is connected to a pc with internet access? this is bs. they can do it in a heart beat. my car was broken in to last night and my 30 gig zune was stolen. to me, they should be able to track a stolen zune when ever it is connected and monitor what is goin on. i have a lot of personal stuff on the device and it pisses me off about how i cant do anything about it.

sounds like a good reason to buy a new one!  120 GB FTW!

Aw man, I was hoping this thread turned out a little better. =/ My entire LAPTOP was stolen (with my 80GB attached) and I can see where they're logging into MY social and listening to MY music! Last login was 8 days ago...my laptop was stolen 12 days ago. It would be great if they could track/let me know which IP this is coming from cause I know the idjits that stole my laptop aren't smart enough to proxy surf.  I'll be changing my password soon (it logs in automatically when the Zune software is opened) but I'm really hoping they go through the rest of my links and stuff to the sites I KNOW will trace it for me.


Till then, my shiny new 120GB is getting engraved and will be here in 10-14 days!

This would be a great feature to have.  My 80 gig was stolen by one of my temporary associates at work.  Luckily, the rest of my team pitched in together and bought me a 120 gig.

Yea I was thinking the same idea. I contacted Microsoft when my first zune was stolen and they said all you can do is contact local police and give them the number on the back of the zune that you register the device with. I have had two 30 gigs stolen in the last one and a half years. Kinda an expensive deal!.

THIS WOULD BE SUCH A GREAT FEATURE!
I am one of the lucky ones i had my zune locked down with the password thing, and i left it in my bag and the next thing i knew i pull out my zune like 20 minutes later only to discover that everything on my zune has been erased!  but i was really thankful when i noticed that it could have been alot worse like for example it could have been stolen! so thankyou microsoft for that feature but i would really like to see a stolen feature just incase.  I personally think that it would be quite handy

Oh Hon, I am so sorry. Great idea..tell all  your friends to look for your name to pop up on the wireless. Look on eBay, maybe you can find a used one? My niece just had her's stolen at school. Her Mom won't buy her another one..she says she "should have kept track of it better"...BUT her favorite Auntie can still look for one for her on eBay!!!!
