re: LYRICS?
Why don't they just make a new section on the menu... Have Music, Videos, Pictures, Lyrics. So you can access while music is already playing and it will just show a list of all the bands on the device and you can search through for the right song. I'm sure it can be saved as a text file which would be smaller then having an album art that scrolls. No need to worry about battery life if you don't open them up. And it would not have to be something added to the song file or anything, just copy paste the lyrics into a notepad file or something and sync it do the device.

I think it would be one of the coolest things ever, if the zune could have the lyrics scroll across the bottom of the sreen as the song was playing!  Maybe that's a little out there?! I don't know, but I'd enjoy it alot!  It's the type of feature, that if an mp3 player had this, I would spend an extra 100 bucks or more for it!

Really? Dude if I knew that I woulda given you my kareoke machine months ago! LOL!

How's the weather on P.E.I. ?

I think I'd look funny on a plane listening to a karaoke machine!lol
The weather has been good as far as I know(still have a lot of snow on the ground but warming up), but I'm in Florida right now.  I hear they are supposed to get a snowstorm tomorrow though! ha  Vermont is probably getting it right now!lol

The only "problem" I would have with your idea is it would be to much hassle for me to exit all the way out of the menus, go into lyrics, and then if I wanted to switch songs, exit lyrics, and then go into the menus again. Also I do not know if you would be able to fit the lyrics on one screen.

Well, as with games, you can probably make it to where you can go to the music with just a couple moves. And the lyrics could zoom and move around with the d-pad like a picture.

re: LYRICS?
ya.. well ok. I guess as long as they have a decent way of viewing lyrics on the device, is what matters.

re: LYRICS?
lyrics would be so cool for zune!!!!
when i used itunes, the lyric section was really important to me

not only could i put the lyrics in there, but i could also put other information about the song
or the band, and since im a serious DEADHEAD there is alot of info that i have about the Dead and their songs
that I would love to look through on my zune

re: LYRICS?
yeah, lyrics is definitely the next thing on the list of zune maker's to-do list.

but instead of having them scrolling across the bottom, (since that would be annoying/distracting,) users should be able to click on the nowplaying screen and a "LYRICS" screen should be another option among "rating, show song list, go to artist," ect.

Ipods have them, so im sure there is a technology that doesn't let it take up too much space.

thankss!!!

re: LYRICS?
I'm confused on the whole karaoke thing where it lights up. First, if it's actually people who add in the lyrics like getting them from a site or something, how would the zune know the lyrics? How would it know when to light up? The lyrics chosen by the person could be completely wrong so how could the words light up? Couldn't it just be made simpler and keep the idea of a lyrics box chosen from the song menu list and just have it in like paragraph form where you could scroll down. I mean, if you can read, then you should be able to follow the lyrics so there is no need to have the words light up. Unless by karaoke, you mean that it comes like sentence by sentence or something like that.

This is exactly what I think should happen. Everything else everyone is suggesting are very good suggestions but I think it would take awhile for that to work. I would think this would be much simpler.
