re: Indie! Bands to Recommend.
Just made my first digital music purchase ever. Girl in a Coma - Both Before I'm Gone. Kinda like if the Smiths were a trio of females. Most of the songs on the album have a sameness that works really well. There are a couple of stand-outs though. (For those interested, I found them when I was searching for info on the new Runaways movie. Girl in a Coma is signed to Blackheart Records.) There are some vids and songs at the Blackheart website, their myspace and their official website.

The ones I highlighted are the only ones I've heard of and they are all great imo!  Really Think Mogwai and Godspeed You!Black Emperor are in a league of their own tho!  Awesome bands!
I think Steven Wilson could be added, as well as his bands Blackfield and Porcupine Tree, love all his stuff!

Firth of exiles, from the villa close to the supertwister in a glass locomotive, eclipse my moonbeams!

Indie! Bands to Recommend.

Um, yo. This is just what I can come up with off the top of my head, but;
The Format {they're almost so indie it hurts.}
Alphabeat {they're Danish, but their songs are in English.}
The Hush Sound
Vampire Weekend
OKGO {they're very rocky. I love them~ .}
of Montreal {I've only heard two of their songs, but they show promise.}

But I'd reccommend this page if you want to see some Indie artists. Ignore all the satire, okay :}?

re: Indie! Bands to Recommend.
Here are just a few I listen to on a regular basis or try to at least... Normally I just shuffle...

Arctic Monkeys
The Rentals
Franz Ferdinand
Maximo Park
Cold War Kids

The list could go on forever... I have several I can't think of currently with it being I just recently got my Zune and started to download so much new stuff. Prior to the Zune I would just download what I would randomly come across or would hear about, but the Zune really helps in finding new artists that meet my listening pleasure.

Zune: RED 80GB Name: Big Red
Zune: PINK 4GB Name: Pinky

Got XBox Live? Look me up....

re: Indie! Bands to Recommend.

The new Girl in a Coma album comes out next week or so. I'm pretty psyced.

Other stuff I've been listening to lately:

The Elected

Rilo Kiley

She & Him

Au Revoir Simone - this especially has been on heavy rotation. Haven't picked up their latest yet.

re: Indie! Bands to Recommend.
Alot of what I'd suggest has already been mentioned, but here's what I listen to:

The Decemberists
Laura Veirs
Cloud Cult
MGMT
Metric (Are they still considered Indie?)
Emily Haines
Liam Finn
Sarah Blasko
The Woodlands
Jose Gonzalez
Mike Dumovich

I'm sure there's others as well, but I'll stop there.
