I love the Forrest Gump soundtrack too.  Got some great 60's/70's music on it.  For some reason, I think "Rebel Rouser" is my favorite song, but I'm a sucker for the instrumentals.
However...I'll be voting for the Lord of the Rings soundtracks as my favorites.  Loved the movies, and the music made them 10 times better! Cool [H]

Altime favorite score sound track is "Star Wars Episode III", but I also like the "Lord of the Rings" Trilogy score 3 disc sound track.

As far as compilation movie sound tracks, my favorite is the "Singles" sound track. Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, and more all on one album....I have had to buy this disc twice because I wore the first one out!!!!!!

Heat and Manhunter soundtrack are great...just about any michael mann film has a great soundtrack.

i also like the The Beach, Trainspotting, Witness and the Mad Max trilogy's soundtracks

Sunshine! Underworld did the soundtrack. The movie is okay, but the soundtrack kills.

Newsies (which is the most amazing musical and the 2nd most amazing movie in the world)

Princess Bride (I really really want it but I haven't gotten around to it yet)

Across the Universe

Les Miserables (Eponine's part in A Heart Full of Love is beautiful!)

Well there are quite a few soundtracks that I like but my top 5, in no particular order, are:

Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back
Stardust (was blown away by the music in it)
The Committments
Trainspotting
Les Miserables

I tend to like most soundtracks but those are the 5 I can never tire of listening too.  Some others I didn't mention like Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Carribean, Batman Returns, or even Memphis Belle would be there too, but figure I should stop at 5 Smile [:)]

I have an extensive soundtrack collection and out of these listed there are many more so I'll spare you Big Smile [:D]:
The Royal Tenebaums, The Untouchables, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I Heart Huckabees, Mallrats, Road To Perdition, Lost Highway, The Fifth Element, Spanglish, Little Miss Sunshine, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Pulp Fiction, Punch Drunk Love, The X-Files: Fight the Future, Natural Born Killers, Better Off Dead.
