These issues are getting pretty frustrating. The Zune card and social page is a nice idea, but it's getting to the point where I just don't want to fight with the software to get things to show up properly.
First, I bought AFI's Crash Love the day it came out, and there was a case typo in the FreeDB entry (AFi, with a lowercase i) that caused the Zune software to not recognize the album. I listened to the album a lot, and when it was 1 play from a silver artist badge, the Zune software corrected the ID tags once the album info was finally added. So, now I have AFi sitting at 999 on my Zune page, with a new AFI bronze badge as well.
Yesterday, I bought Flyleaf's Memento Mori (Expanded) and my Zune software cannot link my album to the correct entry. Using the 'Find Album Info' tool returns only 1 result for the regular version of the album (with the first two tracks out of order, I might add). The funny thing is is that the exact same Memento Mori (Extended) album is available in the Zune marketplace, on the front page no less. Even though I can see my exact album in the Zune marketplace, I cannot seem to get my local copy to link up to it.
I understand that it takes some time for new albums to be added to the database, and that's not really where the problem is for me. My problem is that if you listen to an album with an incorrect tag or it's missing from the database, then all those plays are lost to an invalid entry. What would be great is that in the case of my first example, once the Zune software updated my AFI album to use the correct tag, it should have also associated the plays of those songs to the correct album and artist. I really don't want two AFI's sitting next to each other on my most played display, so it'd be nice if the two entries could be combined somehow. As it stands at the moment, I am hesitant to rack up lots of plays on my new Flyleaf album because I know that those plays will be incorrectly credited on my social page in a week or two when the database gets updated.
