APPLE does this BS.  You dont want to know how mad I got when I discovered that after finally going legit I can't move my own PURCHASED property around.  iTunes is a rip off.  Amazon ftw.

Actually Apple has now gone Itunes Plus on everything they have in the store, which makes it DRM free and at 256kbps for their music now.  If a artist decides not to go that route, it's not Apple's, Microsoft, Rhapsody, Walmart, Amazon or any other digital music stores fault..it's the artist/record company.  Apple even has started putting their Music Videos (NOT their movies, just music videos) into Itunes Plus also, so they can be put on a Zune if you buy them there.  I think most record companies are finally coming around and seeing that the only way to sell digital is DRM free.

It depends on the artist. If it's a band I really like I will buy the CD.

i'm about 90% cd purchases and about 10% mp3 purchases.  i prefer to have the original cd.  often, you can find the cd as cheap or cheaper than an mp3 download price.

I for one have been a very hesitant person to switch to the digital age.  I used to be very proud of my girthy collection of CD's, but after moving several times and having kids, I have come to find out protecting that collection from being lost or damaged has become a bit of a pain...to which end the digital age is a perfect solution.  All the music, none of the storage hassles.  :)

I am 90% downloading music from various sources, 10% buying the cd album from a store like best buy, hot topic, etc.  I avoid walmart as much as i possibly can, they are too picky about music selection and content

I typically only buy CDs now if I cant download them.

I've purchased literally 2 CDs only this year.

i went digital for a while but i went back and bought most of those albums on CD while continuing to buy new CDs

i love having looking at the cover in person, reading the booklet, and being able to have a CD collection that can easily be shown off Big Smile [:D]

re: Have you gone digital or are you still a CD buying person?
I usually buy my cds from online like from ebay or amazon (sometimes cheaper than in stores), but sometimes i download the albums from online (amazon or zune markeplace). For me its about 70 to 30 ratio on cd's vs. digital. i like buying cds because lets face it, you get this sort of satisfaction in knowing that yes i have the songs but i also have the cd, its case, and little booklet to back it up, im a FAN! lol. Or if its one of the rare cds that you can barely find anywhere, thats where it counts the most. But other times i prove to be lazy and/or impatient and dont wont to go through all the hassle of tracking it down (if its in stores, or on ebay), when i can just download it on the spot. ^o^!

I buy CDs that I know I love and want for years to come, but otherwise, the Zune Pass gets me by very well. ;)

re: Have you gone digital or are you still a CD buying person?
I am 19, and I have been collecting and purchasing cd's for about 8 years now. I have at least 850 actual hard copy cds. I still purchase cd's, but granted, there are many great things out there that are very difficult to find on cd. So I do a bit of both. I mean honestly, where else will you get a copy of "David Bowie Narrates Peter And The Wolf"? And if I do get it offline and I happen to enjoy it and I see the cd in stores, I always try to support the artist and buy the cd. You appreciate CD's much more than digital files.
