Re: re: LYRICS?

Oh, yes, I've thought for a while that it would be nice to have lyrics optional on the Zune, and though scrolling across the bottom might get a little annoying (though  maybe this could be an optional feature) maybe pressing the centre button to bring up the menu would allow you to select lyrics, which would show up somewhere on the list.

Would be great, and I know I would use it alot. Glad I'm not alone in feeling this way.

This is all good and dandy, but it would eat up your battery life just to read lyrics constantly.  I think if you could just click on the song while it's playing and looking for lyrics in its sub-menu could work.  I just would hate to have lyrics scroll or be in front of the album art, too much going on IMHO.

I agree, I think having them as an optional function would be a great idea.

re: LYRICS?
ok, here's my idea - i only found this thread after thinking of it btw, & i might not have read all the posts so sorry if it looks like im copying somebody. So I think it would be best to add a feature that uses the social so that users can upload and share their lyrics over the social, and then edit them to their preference offline. i think this is better cause it pretty much eliminates the need for going online & copying & pasting lyrics into a box like iTunes. btw I don't think theres much need/use to putting the lyrics on the device itself. If ur walking along, ur probably not staring at your screen for very long, so unless the lyrics did scroll across the screen, it would be a hassle if you only wanted, say, one verse, to open something from the in-song menu (which i find is annoyingly unresponsive btw). But idk, i guess there are people who would do that on the bus or wtv.

Oh yeah, definitely have it be an option you have to select from the in-song-menu.

The Zune software hasn't gotten an update in a very long time.

How much battery would it really eat up if the feature went inactive when the backlight went off at its preset time?

re: LYRICS?
i say: ' in-song menu; optional feature ; not scrolling constantly on album art ; but maybe go away after a certain amount of time? ; an option if you want it to stay the whole time (karaoke??) '  may think of something to add to that.. give me a few days...

re: LYRICS?
Lyrics would be awesome on the Zune, but I find myself not using them a whole lot, so lyrics in the software might be a great idea because most of the time when I'm "on-the-go" I don't really take the time to read lyrics, but it would be nice just in case I do.

re: LYRICS?
If anyone on the Zune development team happens to read this, then here is what I think should be tried to incorporated. This is a refinement of a few different peoples ideas:

1)Add in lyrics both on the pc, and zune device
2)Add it in to the song menu (when you press select in the now playing)
3)when you select the lyrics option from the menu have it replace the space used for album art.
4)It would be a decent sized text, and scroll upwards
5)*optional* Have it karaoke style where the current word lights up (or shows lighter then the others)
5a)when the back light goes off, the lyrics won't light up anymore, but will still scroll. When action resumes, the current word lights up again.
5b)when the light goes off, the screen defaults (album art, etc.)

What you guys think?

I think it would be one of the coolest things ever, if the zune could have the lyrics scroll across the bottom of the sreen as the song was playing!  Maybe that's a little out there?! I don't know, but I'd enjoy it alot!  It's the type of feature, that if an mp3 player had this, I would spend an extra 100 bucks or more for it!

Really? Dude if I knew that I woulda given you my kareoke machine months ago! LOL!

Actually, here is an update to my previous list:

5b)when the light goes off, the screen defaults (album art, etc.)***number 5c) is a better version of this***

5c)when the light goes off, it still scrolls so on resume you can still find the words. It defaults on change/new song.
6)You can turn off lyrics for the current song by selecting it from the menu again.
