Metallica definitely. Megadeth is decent but Metallica definitely owns them in riffs, solos, and pure energy. They're both good bands though (even though Dave Mustaine is a douche)
Except that statement is wrong. I'm not big on Megadeth, but Metallica is horrid. Could they say, "This I swear," AGAIN on "The Day that Never Comes?" The end of that song sounded like "One" in a way. There's sounding like you old music, and then there's sounding EXACTLY like your old music. I prefer originality.
to get to your quote, i agree, The Day That Never Comes sounds like the end of One, FOR THE LAST 2 SECONDS.
and for the argument. If you wanna say for argument sake of who stuck to thrash, and tried to stay in their element. It's Megadeth. they had numerous line-up changes, cause dave is an ass while drunk, but they stuck to that thrash because it's metal to them, it's metal to us, and that's just the way it is. if you want all-around sake, it's Metallica hands down. the thrash classics are the first FOUR, everyone stops at Master of Puppets because cliff died on tour. but it's actually the first four. You wanna know why you don't hear bass on Justice, cause they turned Jason's *** down. Cliff wrote lines for that album. So it's the first four. Then, the Black Album, which is good, but for people like me, who love the old Metallica, we can stand it to a certain point because water-downed fans think it's the best piece of are in history. It's not. Load/ReLoad, they should of released it as a Double Album, released on the same day, because Load doesn't better receptions than ReLoad has, that's why Metallica released more singles for Load, to balance it out. Garage Inc. the covers are great, especially on the second disc. S & M, great idea by those guys, St. Anger, that's something that they felt they had to do, and they dont' acknowledge it anymore. Death Magnetic, they're trying to bring the thrash back, but there's a loudness war on the record, and it doesn't balance teh thrash sound out as well as it did on Justice.
Simple Argument- Metallica
other arguments- it varies
