re: great classic punk and ska bands

Also, I dont really think of Crue as punk nor as ska.  They are pretty clearly 80's Hair-Metal.

But you're right, we are back to flash over crap music...I have this theory that good financial times produce crap music and bad financial times produce good music--because ppl need music to stop being a lifestyle soundtrack and speak to/for them again, as all good art is supposed to do.

Ergo, the current crap economy should produce some really good music...some of the new things I have seen coming up and around may show that to be true... but only time will tell.

I favor ALL the bands listed by SKAGUY, try listening to "Lars Frederikson and The Bastards", because if you like rancid, you will like this.

Woah I am really late for this, but I have a few Ska bands of my own...

Pain, No Torso, Mad Caddies, Buck-O-Nine, and Leftöver Crack.

They are all very good bands, but my most favorites are Pain and Streetlight Manifesto...
