Same exact thing happening to me in the last few days. I'll get to 15-20% and then my whole computer locks up and I have to do a hard reboot. Doesn't look like there's much help around here either. What to do...

This is crazy. Same problem with my Zune 120. I started to notice that songs were missing or things weren't syncing fully in the last few days. So I erased everything from my Zune and tried to re-sync my entire collection...Bad idea, very bad idea! Now I can only get about 10% of my collection synced to my Zune. It keeps losing connection with Zune 4.0. This is very annoying, please fix this soon (or at least acknowledge it!).

I GOT THE SOLUTION! Me too for about 2 years I've been trying again and again to sync my zune but was always freezing!!!
there are 2 things you can do to help sync without freezing, even if you have 4000 songs at once! 
Plug the zune at the back of the computer and not the front: better power supply
Put an ice pack around the zune to cool it down (that really works!)
