re: Conncecting the Zune HD to a browser-based login Internet
I am on a college campus and we have to register our mac addresses and then from there you login using a user name and then password. I registered my mac address but when i go to connect to the network it says password but not username.  So I type in my password but it just says invalid and their is never a spot for my username, anyone have any ideas?

On a side note, did you know you can't use this official Zune forum from the Zune's web browser?  Well, you can't post a message.  (Try it.)  Keyboard won't activate.  Fail.  Smile [:)]

I tried connecting my Zune HD to my laptop and then closing the Zune software. I then connected my laptop to the college wifi and still no luck. We need help from the Zune Team!

re: Conncecting the Zune HD to a browser-based login Internet
It is cool that you can just hook the Zune HD up with a sync cable and use the internet from a laptop, but if i have a laptop and a Zune HD, I'd probably just use the internet on my laptop. the reason i was looking forward to the Zune HD browser was the fact that i wouldn't have to carry my laptop with me everywhere.

Same here.  I'm sure it's just a temporary glitch, since it sounds like it should be working.

re: Conncecting the Zune HD to a browser-based login Internet

Zune HD does not currently support the following protocols:

1.        WPA/WPA2 Enterprise

2.        Some forms of 802.1x

a.  Where a separate application is required to login

b.  Where a certificate must be downloaded to the device after a web based login

Colleges and large work networks are common adopters of these types technologies for network security reasons.  Check with your network administrator to determine if the network you’re attempting to connect to might employing any of these technologies.

Also, if you could let us know the university/campus or other locations where you are having these problems then we can contact the IT department to get the details on their network setup and discuss with them possible solutions.
