WOW, No Zune HD in Canada????!!!!!

Being in the media i recently contacted Zune Canada to ask for a comment as to weather or no there were plans for a Zune HD in Canada. I was given a reply that simply said, "There are currently no plans to bring the ZuneHD to Canada in near future or at the same time as the U.S. launch."

Well maybe you should think about it before you call ***.  Apple doesn't offer a subscription service, Microsoft is trying to do such.  Two different offerings will get completely different responses from the CRTC.

MS is very wary of making any pre-announcements...I don't know whether to interpret that comment as no zune HD in Canada, or that there is just nothing to say about it publicly at the moment.  But, perhaps a Canadian can look at the published specs here and make a comment about whether the HD radio and HD video output capabilities are compatible with Canadian standards...

There is no HD Radio in Canada.  As for output capabilites, we use the same consumer hardware, though we like to plug our cables in upside down just because we are North of the US. :)

I lovve my Zune but I hate microsoft right now. It just goes to show Canadians that microsoft has no intrest in our market. Maybe because we didn't buy enough units. Hell if that's the case i'll go out and buy 6 more if it gets us the HD and marketplace.

yea, its depressing how little they are trying considering we are RIGHT next to them, i mean yes, they've gotten zunes into canada, but now...if you go into your retailers, even others agree with this, but the zunes are hardly onn the shelves (no 120's just the smaller flash ones or vice versa) which i think they can do allot better than that, especially if they are trying to take the market from apple they at least need to supply people.

second of all the marketplace, should have been here LONG time ago, and its stupid that it isnt, that should become a priority now, considering thats how you should be purchasing content for your zune right??? without it your zune is worthless (figuratively speeking~if you only used zune marketplace)  

now for the zune HD, other people have said in this forum that "it wasnt officially not said that they arent bringing it to Canada" but they are only making plans for the US now. 

all i can say is that i might make a 6 hour drive down to the U.S. to find some retailer so i can get a Zune HD.

guys im not sure but i came across something very intersting about the zune hd launch in canada hope u like it visit http://www.onlyoled.co.uk/zunehd-packing-multitouch-oled-display-hdmi    check it out lol

yea but the fact that it was posted in july makes it a bit sketchy, i mean yeah it says in Canada, which is AWSOME, but every other website ive checked says its bound for only a U.S. release in fall.....sucks......plus only US websites (like amazon.com and bestbuy.com) are posting up the zune HD now....my hopes for the zune HD coming to Canada in fall are HIGH but it is very unlikely

it would definately work, but as for the zune software, updating it and everything you "may" need to pull some strings to get that (like getting marketplace content in canada)

-some things that may/may not work are the HD radio, i hear its not available in canada, but not sure, (but they are still adding normal radio i beleive)

thats about it on the hardware, you just think about what canada supports and what it doesnt which the only thing that comes to mind is that marketplace, and the HD Radio with me.



Im going to the states to pick one up if its a no-go to canada, im 100% sure it will work.
