Note - Not all these bands are truly Indie, but hey, they're my faves. I could just list my whole library and call it a day.

I think DCFC are at the point where they're outside the indie scene now. That being said, they're old label barsuk has some free mp3 of theirs for d/l.

 

Don't know why, but I like pretty much anyone who's ever been signed to Matador recs.

Hello fellow indie-rock lovers,
I won't cull a list as I'm only going to end up repeating bands that've already been recommended. I'd just like to recommend this new(ish) British band I stumbled across:
The Woe Betides.

I'm not good with genres but I've been telling people about the band Empires (www.myspace.com/empires), and everyone whose given them a listen have liked them. So go to www.weareempires.com to download their album for free! They are a band from Chicago :)
Also, As Tall As Lions (www.myspace.com/astallaslions). I love them too.
