latin music is not all reggaeton. reggaeton is a small part of latin music. latin music can and does consist of rock, rap, metal, pop, punk, rancheras, corridos, bachata, salsa, meregue, etc.

although i do adore Wisin & Yandel, they are not latin music; what you're saying is that W&Y is the embodiment of what latin music is. they are not. they are merely a very small part of latin music.

Yeah deff there is good music on the latino site. Hey check this band called Varana is a brand new band that just came out from mexico city i think. Their music video is called "llevame" is their hot single song check them out.

Juan Luis Guerra is defintely bachata man, he IS domincan country/folk which is bachata.  I'm down with just about any music, but when it comes to my latin music, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not all that familiar with the Mexican music.  Although I do have a lot of mexican baladas; I'm mostly a big Salsa (from Grupo Niche, Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Angel Canaves), Merengue, and Bachata head idk maybe it's b/c I'm mostly Dominican with a little bit of Peruvian.  First dance I knew was Salsa lol and danced with my uncle's group when I was little, but now idk I haven't been back home in awhile and the clubs I've been going to down here in Florida have been hip-hop with the occasional reggaeton where I grab the nearest latina and get my perreo on lol.

You know what Salsero I don't think gets enough recognition - Ruben Blades.  When he and Willie Colon made music together, I think it was the best salsa ever created.

How Ironic your Mexican and don't like Mexican Music and I'm Puerto Rican and I hate Ragaeton; it has too many parallels with hip hop(another genre I'm not crazy about). However I did like that one song that had some Indian style music  I guess its who we hang with. I work with and subsequently am friends with a lot of mexican and south american immigrants.

I can't see myself blacking out and then waking up under the table from listening to Daddy yankee, but turn on some Vicente Fernandez y ahi me salen las lagrimas then i feel happy. Elvis crespo's voice is not the most important thing, lyrics and voice don't really matter in merengue, as long as the rhythem is good and get those hips moving.

 

Mana, I heard 3 songs from them Bendita la luz, mariposa de amor, and labios compartidos. Mana makes better syrup than maple trees Thats all I heard from them and probably all I would want to hear. Juanes is pretty good volverte a ver is an old song but still one of my favs. Do you like bachata and salsa too.

Yeah its sad that some mexican people don't listen to traditional mexican music because they consider it "naco" music and listen to more mainstream newer music, but me personally i don't give a "f**k i listen to banda, rancheras, sonideras, corridos, tamborazo everywhere i could care less about what the other people think and keep it paisa to the fullest, but don't get me wrong i also listen to rock, reggaeton, rap etc.

you can listen to whatever you want. no one will stop you.

just dont go putting words in my mouth or twisting what i say.

i didnt listen to "traditional Mexican" music growing up. therefore, i did not develop the same fondness for the music as other people have.

 

and i do hope you know that being called a "paisa" is not a posittive connotation; its used to describe uneducated, ignorant people.
