Favorite Artist? Not quite that simple!

as you may have noticed, no one is able to limit their choice to any single artist. mine sort of work this way:

keyboardist: bob james;

guitarist: pat methany

saxophonist: david sanborn

horn player: wynton marsalis

vocalist: cassandra wilson; most honorable recognition to al jarreau

multifaceted: diana krall

props to zune and ceecee06, that lionel loueke was a very plesant discovery! if you want to try something different, lyle lovett and his large band is just the pill. and, herbie hancock is as varied and reliable as the day is long.

You know I find things I've missed.  Gene Harris as an example, Bumpin' on Sunset by Wes M'.

How do you ever have just one favorite?  Or even a set with there is so much good stuff to choose from!

Gee, I read through this post and it takes me back to college (I studied jazz performance -- hence the ZuneTag). I remember teaching students in jazz history class that there was more to life than Miles Davis and John Coltrane. To see you guys able to run off as many names as you all have (Kenny G will always be up for debate, I guess) it's quite fantastic to see.

In my sea of Zune buddies who dig their rock and roll, it's nice to meet a few jazz cats every now and then, haha.

Hey, I have a friend who was Kenny G's keyboard player. He has plenty of stories he could tell you about tours with that man. :-)

In the spirit of Fusion Funk Jazz. This album is 70's. 80's groove.
