But yeah Christan music has lost what it was about, what happened to Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W Smith, and oh Carmen. It's just not the same..some of it is still good though like Phil Wickham...but most of it is fake crap

I was really into Christian music heavy about 10 years ago.  I've lost touch with what is 'new' now. I'm just getting back into music now that I got my Zune.  I tend to agree with Nelvannya's statement. I haven't found many Christian artists I like as much as Steven Curtis Chapman, Micahel W. Smith, Carmen, etc.  Seems like most everything these days is 'fake'.  Indifferent [:|]

I must say I do like Rush of Fools.  I have a couple of songs by Mandisa and I like her work too.  I downloaded a couple by Shane & Shane which I really like so maybe I'll find some new generations to listen too. Smile [:)]I'll have to check out Phil Wickham, can't say I've heard anything by him. (if I have, I probably didn't know who it was at the time I heard it)

Okay for real SilentWalrus, no disrespect but... we really didn't want your opinon.

It's the Christian Forum, your input was not needed... you don't have to like us but please tolerate us, especially on our own forum.

If you're only posting here to annoy us-nice job.

The point of Christian music is that some of the artists talk about hope that they have in life from God.  They talk/sing about trials and struggles in their life that they've overcome.  They sing about how God will always  be there for you-and how he'll never leave you-and despite all the mistakes that we make in life-he's quick to forgive-no matter how awful we might've been.  and that things like cutting, sex, or drugs don't make life better-or make life more bearable-that God is there for us-and he fills that part of us that other things can't.

I agree with you 100% (except for the part about SilentWalrus annoying us).  He/she does have the right to express his/her opinion.  This is a Christian music forum and if he/she doesn't like this type music,  he/she has the right to state so.  I'm just glad he/she was 'nice' about it.  I've seen much worse comments posted under other forums.  We can go to the music forums we don't like and state so if we so choose.  I just don't see the point in that.

Let's move on...speaking about Christian music...this isn't exactly classified as Christian but has anyone heard George Strait's "I Saw God Today".  I reallly like this one and bought the single download.  This is a good example of how Christian music can still make an impact in the secular world.

re: Um, wow
I will check it out TweeDee. Thanks for the tip. I have just recieved the new cd released by After The Chase. It is very good and it is honest and from the heart. After The Chase has their first self titled cd on the marketplace but you will have to go here http://www.afterthechase.com/ to order the new one "Make Me New". Their music is a great representation of what I think are everday people who love Jesus and are struggling in a secular world. I truly am praying for peace for all of us. Peace of mind that only comes when walking with the Holy Spirit and having a relationship with Jesus. If only we could truly love each other as he would have us do.

re: Um, wow

i'm just stating what i feel.  and i'm trying to be nice.  since the whole purpose of his/her comment was obviously to annoy us, then good, it worked.  I state that i'm a christian in other forums, and that annoys other people, so i agree with you, that they have the right to post what they feel.  it's a free country, last time i checked.

Yep, and you did a very nice job!  I don't think I could express myself as eloquently as you did in your previous post and I'm glad you stood up for us !Big Smile [:D]

Turke142,

Thanks for the tip on After the Chase.  I checked out some of their clips on their website and plan to buy some of their songs or maybe a whole cd.
