re: Connecting the Zune HD to a browser-based login Internet/WPA/WPA2 Enterprise Support
I actually see the whole connecting to the internet thing is something Microsoft needs to be a little quicker about fixing.  I on occasions would be able to connect at home but never out and about trying to connect at a free wifi spot.  Now my Zune hd isn't even connecting to the net at home.  I don't always connect to the net but it was nice to upgrade knowing that option was there (which now it seems it isn't).  I even have my router set to WEP but that too seems to be causing a problem for the Zune hd.  I just wish MS would get it right sometimes.  I support and support many of the products but just can't understand why I do when there always seems to be a new problem with each and every one.  I've supported Zune since the "brick" but now I just can't tell folks to go pick the zune hd up if I've having issues that I can't even figure out how to correct. I just would like to have the problem fixed and an acknowledgment that "yes there seems to be a problem Zune hd supporters."

Month and a half since release, is there any progress being made on getting support for enterprise network? As somone said a week or so ago, an update would be nice.

The community's got its fingers crossed that it will be in the November update, scheduled for the 13th I believe.
Don't quote me though, I can't find that article anywhere anymore. :(

re: Connecting the Zune HD to a browser-based login Internet/WPA/WPA2 Enterprise Support
I'm Pretty sure that The Zune Team aren't just sitting there doing nothing, and yes over the past few years they have usually done a firmware update in November. The 13th of November probably wont be it because its a Friday. They usually push out updates for everything Windows, Xbox 360 , Zune on Tuesday or Wednesday so the 10th or the 11th seems to be a much more logical release date. They don't want to release an update on Friday that does something accidental that bricks some peoples Zune's and have them wait until Monday, that's why it's generally done during midweek so if things like that happen they can be fixed quickly. Microsoft probably won't confirm a firmware update until the last minute so look for more news of an update to leak in the coming week or so from Gizmodo, Engadget, and the various other great Zune forums and blogs.

I just discovered that my date was based on an illegitimate article; there DOES appear to be an upcoming update in November, but there is NO indication of when exactly it will be.

I repeat, there is no confirmed date.

Well, the Zune team released firmware v4.3 today.  I'll have to see if enterprise support was added when I'm at Sac State on Monday.

As far as I can tell after the update, My Zune HD still cannot connect to my colleges network. More than likely this was to fix the playcount issue.

And here is what the Update does (Via Engadget) :

"Who says Microsoft ain't lookin' out for those who selected its Zune HD over something Designed In Cupertino? Just days after countless owners went berserk over a playcount syncing issue, Microsoft has released a new firmware update that not only solves that very quandary but also adds a gaggle of fantastic new and / or improved features. The v4.3 update is available now by selecting "Player Update" from within the device itself, and with it will come "support for upcoming 3d games and applications, as well as an auto-suggest feature for better text input, and other minor improvements." We're hearing that those "minor improvements" include a snappier browser, so it's pretty safe to say you're only harming yourself if you don't get this download going right now."

Well, it now says "This network type is currently not supported" instead of asking for a password...
I guess we're going to the right direction at least.
