there are probably too many bands i've seen live to even remember half of them, but here are 10 of my most memberable concerts and reasons why. (because just listing the thousands of shows and bands would be like trying to one up everybody.)
1. Peter Noone - (of Herman's Hermits) my first ever concert i think it was at a state fair i was probably 6 or 7. my mother will never ever let me forget it.
2. Homegrown w/ the Amazing Royal Crowns - my first real "punk rock" show experience that wasn't a local band in basement or church youth center. approximately '97 a fight broke out and my ride almost got stabbed.
3. Warped Tour 2001 - i was actually knocked unconcious at one point and i lost my shoe, several hours later i recovered lost shoe.
4. Andrew WK w/ The Locust - i think was probably the biggest most awkward party show i've ever experienced. everyone was trying to stage dive, but at one point the entire crowd was on stage so people were just jumping of the stage into an empty dancefloor, and seeing the locust on a stage just seemed wrong.
5. Tsunami Bomb - halloween of 2004 i think? i guy was cutting himself with razorblades in the bathroom and smearing blood all over himself. hung out with the bassist for 3 and a half hours after the show then i got lost in a blizzard on the way home.
6. Strike Anywhere w/ Rise Against and Good Riddance - a crowd surfer with a Danzig belt buckle cut a 5 inch gash into my head, sweat and blood stings. i interviewed strike anywhere afterwards for a local zine.
7. Dragonforce w/ Killswitch Engage - i met dragonforce whilst leaving for another show at a local brewery, and invited them along.
8. Rodrigo y Gabriela - best valentines day i've had in a long time. (personal reasons)
9. The Great Redneck Hope - the singer hit the bass player in the head with a microphone, and the bass player then proceeded to vomit and bleed profusely for the next hour or so, sadly they had to cut their 8 minute set short.
10. New London Fire w/ Pompeii, New Atlantic, Signal to Noise and Kiss Kiss - Eyeball records showcase at CMJ 2006. i was on tour with Signal at the time and we immediately got in a beer fight on the street, i saw Caitlyn's boob when i asked her for a T-shirt, and everybody's van was vandalized except ours. i then proceeded to drive the wrong way through the Holland tunnel.
My gut is telling me no....but my gut is also very hungry.
