"This item is no longer available at Zune Marketplace" !!!

HELP!!!!!!

I am receiving the following error message when I attempt to play an album from my Zune software:

CAN'T PLAY

Summary:
This item is no longer available at Zune
Marketplace. Because of this, you can no longer
play it or sync it with your Zune. There might be
another iteration of it available in Zune
Marketplace.

Error Code:
C00D27E1

There is another iteration of the album, but I would have to buy it.  Please tell me this is not the case...

If this is an album you purchased (not rented/Zune Pass), contact Zune Support via phone and they may be able to help.  You are likely a victim of the unintentional license revocation bug.... your permanent license should not have disappeared, even if the content was removed or replaced in Marketplace.

Greetings Ralph E Boi,

Gr0mmet is correct, this is an issue with the licences. We encountered a global issue where purchased licences are beinf revoked when they should not be. Zune Support can reset licences to allow yoou to play the music. The issue itself is being worked on and should be fixed shortly.

re: "This item is no longer available at Zune Marketplace" !!!

I dont understand this. I spent an hour on the phone with Zune tech support, and there was no mention of resetting licenses. In fact I spent the hour arguing why I should not have to re-purchase my affected songs. Zune tech support acted as if there was not a problem at all and made no mention of any "known issue". When I asked to talk to somone who worked at Microsoft in the US and not at a call center in India, I was given the address to the legal department. As an avid Microsoft supporter, I was really disapointed with how this issue was not handled, and after reading this post I feel even more frustrated.

Haus Man,

Sorry you had a frustrating time with the phone support. I will verify this but as I was told the call center can renew licences and they should know about this issue. As I said, I will see if I can find more information about this and let you know. Unfortunately sometimes even we ask and the answer is confusing or takes forever to get anything back. But I will not forget ya.

Ok, I think I have reached the limit with this issue. I am now up to 17 songs and still have not found a solution and am extremely frustrated. My wife doesnt seem to have this problem with her iPod. Time to switch?

I am having the same issue -

Should I even TRY to contact support?  Is it even worth it - or jump ship to the IPOD???

This is happening on several albums - not just 1 or 2 songs...

Bad news for you guys,

I have spoken to Zune tech support on this issue a couple of times and there are NO refunds for items that are gone from the marketplace.  It's not a bug, it's not an issue they are resolving.  I got the impression that Microsoft lost a deal with a publisher and the terms of that deal stated that we the consumers don't get to listen to the music anymore.

I've lost over $100 of purchased music because of this.

You might also be interested to know that if you go a couple months without "refreshing" a license for a piece of music, and the Zune licensing servers are down as they were this past Sunday, you aren't allowed to listen to your music either:

Being the owner of two Zunes (my wife has one too), I really feel like I've taken a shot in the ear with their DRM.  Very few of the albums I've purchased still work ... most of them are gone, and we're *NEVER* getting them back folks.

Best thing we can do is complain.  The louder the better.

Here's an incomplete list of what's been stolen from me so far:

Alanis
- Jagged Little Pill

Brand New Heavies
- Heavy Rhyme

Oasis
- Wonderwall

They Might Be Giants
- Flood

Tower of Power
- What is Hip

Yes
- Big Generator
- 90125
- Drama
- Tormato
- Fragile

Alice in Chains
- Discover Alice in Chains
- The Full Discover Package

The Breeders
- Cannonball

Bush
- Razorblade Suitcase
- Sixteen Stone

Cake
- Fashion Nugget
