Christian Metal (UnderOath) or Death Metal (Job For a Cowboy)???

I personally think that Christian is better because of the melodic choruses but still can melt your face off.

Here are som more Christian and Death metal bands.

Christian: Devil Wears Prada, Blessthefall, Norma Jean, Four Letter Lie, and All that Remains

Death Metal: WhiteChapel, The Black Dahlia Murder, Gwen Stacy, Hatebreed, Five Finger Death Punch

whats the difference? it's all music....
granted the christian guys aren't going to say certain things i think they're just as heavy.
try extol(older stuff), the famine, living sacrifice for the christian stuff.
or the faceless, meshuggah, misery signals, and the red chord for the other stuff.

I think of it more as metalcore (genre) vs. Death Metal (genre) than Christianty (a religion) vs. Death Metal (Genre).

Listen, man. Sure, they seem unaware of what death metal is, but it doesn't mean they're ignorant. That's the reason for music forums like this, right? To learn about new type of music or try out new things. If they are willing to learn, perhaps you can show them what death metal is, and how bands like Job For a Cowboy and Hatebreed do not fit the criteria of death metal.

Uh, that's not death metal. Try  Death, Dark Angel, Vader, Nile, Behemoth Meshuggah, stuff like that.

Also, you can't just say Christian metal bands are better because of "melodic choruses". There's a whole subgenre of death metal called "melodic death metal". Amon Amarth, The Haunted, Dark Tranquility, Insomnium.

Job for a Cowboy is death metal. Hatebreed is more mainstream.

Job for a Cowboy is noise. My mom met the singer from Hatbreed a while ago. I'm not really a fan, but I have some free stuff from them and they're local, so they're allright by me.

One of the guys from Hatebreed has a side project called Kingdom of Sorrow, I'm going to see them like in New Haven (where Hatebreed is from) tomorrow. I haven't listened to them much but I'm looking forward to it.
