I'd have to say Metallica, because of the sheer awesomeness of all their songs. Megadeth is great, too, though, just not as many awesome songs.

Megadeth is better IMHO.  There's no doubt Metallica are more media-friendly and get more airplay.  Most of their songs pre-Load are pretty good.  Their last three studio albums have gotten progressively more spotty.  St. Anger is barely listenable.  I have high hopes for the new album though I don't know if I'm just kidding myself.

On the other hand, Megadeth put out great metal albums until they hit Risk as a low-point.  Their three studio albums since then have gotten progressively more amazing.  United Abominations not only destroys Metallica's stuff since MoP, but (again, IMHO) also destroys most of the music being put out so far in this century.  Top it off with Mustaine organizing Gigantour with bands like Lamb of God and Anthrax and you have one guy very devoted to metal.

Megadeth all the way!

Gotta be Megadeth for me.Lost interest in Metallica around the Black album.Just find  Megadeth's music a lot more  interesting.
I even enjoy listening to Risk !!

I'm looking forward to Death Magnetic though.  From what I've heard, it's eleventeen million times better than St. Anger, but still not quite on par with United Abominations.  I hope it does well though.  Metal needs more notice in this era of pop music, American Idol, and Fergie.

I gotta say Metallica. The only album I don't like is St. Anger. Their first 5 kick ass, and so does the new one. I like Megadeth too, just not nearly as much.

Megadeth for me. I mean come on Metallica freakin sold out to something up there butt. Most people that like them cant even hardly name all there cds or the members in the band....They just jump on the bandwagon of wannabe rock fans and buy their shirts cause they are so overly distributed cause thats the only way Metallica can make money. A handful of decent songs do not make up of years worth of wasted talent from them........................Megadeth for life
