great classic punk and ska bands

my favorite ska and punk bands are as follows(no specific order)

punk- Rancid, NOFX, Iggy Pop, The Clash, Propagandhi, Anti-Flag, Suicide Machines

Ska- Big D & the Kids Table, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Streetlight Manifesto, The Toasters, Deals Gone Bad,

give your opinion on whatever, your favs, maybeh

I'm a huge fan of Iggy & The Stooges, as well as Iggy's solo stuff.

As far as other bands: Bad Religion, The Sex Pistols, Dropkick Murphys, Black Flag, Discharge, Misfits, and a slew of others...

I've never been a big fan of ska; for some reason it just ruffles my feathers.

Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, Big D and the Kids Table, Bomb the Music Industry!, Catch 22, The Chinkees, The Clash, Common Rider, Five Iron Frenzy, The Flatliners, Forces of Evil, High School Football Heroes, Johnny Red and the Skammunists, Left Alone, Leftover Crack, Less Than Jake, Link 80, Madness, Manac Sewing Circle, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Mu330, Mustard Plug, Operation Ivy, The Planet Smashers, Rancid, Reel Big Fish, River City Rebels, Skankin' Pickle, Skatastrophes, The Slackers, The Specials, The Spitvalves, Streetlight Manifesto, Sublime, Suburban Legends, Suicide Machines, The Toasters, 80HD.

That list has ska, ska-core, punkska, and some punk.


Music is life. So live a fun one, listen to ska.

Heyy uh, Motley Crue, as said by VH1's Seven Ages of Rock chronicles, stated that Motley Crue didn't give a *** about the music they produced--they were in a time where image made the money and popularity. All they cared about, in exact words as someone in the documentary, was "the hair and clothes, not the music."

And actually, we're still in a time where image makes the money and it's disgusting.

Some of my favorites, some may be hardcore punk; The Germs, X, Black Flag (Morris), Circle Jerks, Eyes, Fear, Dead Boys, The Clash, The Breifs, Vandals (old), Bad Brains, Descendents, Blatz, Filth, JFA, Adolescents, GBH, Toxic Narcotic, Youth Brigade, SSD, DRI, and a shitload more that i cant think of right now, There are some Anarcho Punk, and Grindcore bands that i like too.

Basically most 80s hardcore, and alot of Oi are what I consider classics.


as far as ska goes, Desmond Dekker, Toots and The Maytals. enough said.

My favorite punk band would be Black Flag, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys,Cro-mags,ALL, The descendents, Rancid, and Bad Religion Its disappointing how little people appreciate punk these days

Though they were always put in the "Mod" stereotype, you have to mention The Jam when talking about Ska.  Right?  Classic in my book.

As for Punk, I have way too many favorites.. and some of them break down into sub-genres but..

Bad Brains, Rudimentary Peni, Broken Bones, DI, Agnostic Front, Aggression, Agent Orange, TSOL, Cro-Mags, Battalion of Saints, Minor Threat, X, The Dickies... this list could get huge.
