Favorite Electronic Band

Pretty self-explanitory.

As of right now it's VNV Nation for me.

I don't really have a favorite per say, but I will say that I can't stop listening to Ghostland Observatory's second and third albums.

So hot.

Prodigy

God they are absolutely GARBAGE! Back in the mid 90's when "Fat of the Land" came out they were the *** and it was blowing people away. I just heard his (since its really just Liam Howlett now) new Prodigy album and it *** blows so bad. The guests are terrible...the beats are all the same with each track and the melodies *** suck. I have no hopes for this group anymore....

Now my favorite electrionic "band"....would probably be..I dont know its hard to choose. The Future Sound of London were absolutely incredable back in the days of Dead Cities and Lifeforms. Autechre is probably the most abstract, thought-provocing music I've ever heard. There are so many more that I could recommend but those are the first two that come to mind. But those are "bands" as you would say....thats not me thinking about my favorite "artists" in general which would probably go to John Digweed, Sasha or James Zabiela.

I'm a long-time listener of mind.in.a.box... even though they haven't exactly been producing music for a "long time" by most standards.

That is a difficult question. Lately I've been digging old school stuff like Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, and Throbbing Gristle. Animal Collective dabbles in electronics and I think that they are true pioneers when it comes to experimenting with noise. The same could be said about HEALTH, Holy F*ck, and Radiohead. Then again, you can't talk about electronic music without including the instant classics such as Daft Punk or LCD Soundsystem. Dan Deacon has been blowing my mind with his latest record "Spiderman of the Rings" and his infamous live shows. Justice, MSTRKRFT, and Digitalism have all had breakout years with their respective albums. But I'd have to say that Nine Inch Nails is probably my overall favorite.

The absolute best group/groups when it comes to manipulating sound are hands down: Autechre and Aphex Twin. I wouldnt call Radiohead electronic...yeah they use a ton of it these days but I would still put them in the "rock" genre. Radiohead actually got inspiration from Autechre. If you read the "thank you's" from the Kid A album they will mention Sean Booth and Rob Brown (autechre).

I'd go with daft punk, but that's just me.

Currently my favourite band is Innerpartysystem.

These are the times we'll remember, breaking the city's heart together.
