Switchfoot is a joke and i'm appalled with how corporate Skillet has become.  I remember Skillets first album and it was great.

re: Um, wow

I listen to a lot of Christian rock and there are a lot of choices and a lot of styles. My personal favorites haven't  had anything new for a while but DC Talk and Newsboys are awesome. For those of us that also listen to the message, Phil Wickham is incredible, Shawn McDonald's work is very powerful, and After The Chase is excellent and also one of my favorites. After The Chase has just released a new cd and from the samples on their site, it appears to be very good. I have seen them live and they are very good performers. Most would consider Hawk Nelson Alternative, but, I saw them live opening for Jeremy Camp and they definitely have a Christian message in a lot of their music. Great entertainers also. Toby Mac is very good if that is your style and I have also learned of LeCrae from one of my friends on the Social. While his music is not of my personal listening style, the message is "wow" and the talent is certainly there.

re: Um, wow

Ughh so agree with the sellout skillet comment....oh and what happend to Toby Mac... he sounds like a Pansy

I don't know, I like a lot of Christian, but not any of this new stuff. Everything sounds so commercial, the thing that I loved most about Christian artists was they would sing their soul, you could hear their passion...not so much anymore.

But I am big into gospel... yeah know some Kirk Franklin, Fred H, etc

But yeah Christan music has lost what it was about, what happened to Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W Smith, and oh Carmen. It's just not the same..some of it is still good though like Phil Wickham...but most of it is fake crap

Hey now... ya know my girl is Mandisa !  She's an incredible talent and awesome voice... a true beauty !  Wink [;)]

Also love Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Phillips, Craig & Dean, Take 6, Martina McBride, Faith Hill and many others... many of you are probably too young to know and/or remember... 2nd Chapter of Acts, Mustard Seed Faith, Ernie & Debbie Rettino, and Karen Lafferty... all awesome Maranatha artists...!  Yes [Y]   Big Smile [:D]

re: Um, wow

I'm disagreeing a bit on Skillet.......yah, they're sound is differebnt from before-and a couple songs on Comatose sound the same-but I"m still liking they're new album tons more than their old stuff......anyone heard Live Free or Let Me Die?

Barlow Girl, yes, Toby Mac, sure, Relient K-Yes, Switchfoot-dude-those guys aren't necessarily 'Christian' any more.  Right now my taste is leaning towards hardcore-demon hunter and Haste the Day-but I still like the quieter stuff-Flyleaf-even though they've turned secular.......Fireflight-Unbreakable is AMAZING.  Deas Vail, The Send, Pillar, Anberlin, The Almost, The Afters, Hawk Nelson, Family Force 5, Kutless, Disciple, the Fold, MxPx, RED, TFK, The Wedding, Spoken, 12 Stones-all AMAZING.

While not all of those are necessarily 'christian' to some people-I love them-and personally consider them Christian.

Joy WIlliams, Mandisa, Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns etc. are cool too-but not my style as much......if I'm looking for that kind of message-I"m going for Kutless-or Skillet's Ardent Worship.

re: Um, wow
well because alot of the lyrics that are in alot of songs that deal with behavior like sex or drugs goagainst what i belive as a christian and the values that i have for my own life
