re: gimme some bands...

Well...

On the mellower side :Steel Pulse (classic and still touring), Luciano (classic voice), Beres Hammond (soulful and beautiful), Black Uhuru (cant count the grammys), Marley (doh), Stephen Marley (my personal favorite Marley boy), Jimmy Cliff (classic), Linton Kwesi Johnson (dub-poet), Peter Tosh (classic), UB40 (mellow tons of stuff), Ziggy Marley (stuff runs the gamet from classic to dub to r&b), Abdel Wright (acoustic reggae)

More lively: Bujo Banton (amazing), Aggrolites (Kinda Sublimey), Damian Marley (pushing to the hiphop side sometime), Matisyahu (jewish reggae- how can you beat that)

Sublime offshoots Long Beach Dub Allstars and Long Beach Shortbus

Easy Star All-Stars (for you Radiodread, Police redos)

Reggae for kids albums for the car... because kids tunes really suck...

Anybody have anyone else to turn me on to?

thanks, sorry i can't offer you any suggestions, you've got more than I.  You don't have slightly stoopid listed but it looks like you're into classic reggae, they're more of the weed/party/sublime kind of band.  Plus they use fake jamaican accents, but I think they're fantastic

re: gimme some bands...
You can also try to look into Sublime influences, kinda like history. So besides totally exploring Marley who has tons of songs, check out older bands like The Clash (my personal favorite) particularly London Calling and Sandinista. Then early 80 la punk types like Bad Brains. Even things like The Police. You could even check out classic ska stuff like The Specials (although I could just never get into it). Its obviously not reggae, but they some of the first bands to adopt a reggae influence. It seems like Sublime really evolved from this kind of feel.

The Clash are ok.  I'm not a fan of punk even though alot of them have ska influence.  I can't really get into The Specials either, I have the song "Message to Rudy" and that's it.  It's hard to find really good contemporary reggae/ska bands like Sublime and Slightly Stoopid, it seems like everyone is trying to be a Marley
