re: Can't Open Zune Software

Hey all...

I just downloaded the 2.0 software, and I really like it. I was syncing some videos to my Zune when my computer, as it often does, overheated and shut down. I restarted it, and tried to open the Zune software, but everytime I do I get a message that says "Can't connect to Zune Marketplace. Make sure no other instances of the Zune software are running, then try again."

Where do I even look to help fix this? I really wanna listen to music on my computer again. This has been going on for two days.

Look at your process list under task manager...make sure a instance of zune.exe isn't already running.

I've been having the same problem too. Only I didn't even get to experience the new update. I installed the update and I tried opening up the Zune software. But I got the same error message. I went under task manager and terminated all the taks that Zune was running, then tried opening it again. Same error message. So I uninstalled it, downloaded and installed it agion only to recieve the same error message....

hi, i have the same problem and i have tried installing it over and over again, it looks like its only four other guys with the same situation, anybody at microsoft ever checks this forums, helllppp please

Exact same problem here. I had a 2 and 1/2 hour phone call with support last night , just to be told they are a where that a small portion of us have this problem and there is no curent fix for it . I just hope we are not small enought for microsoft to forget about us . Tech support tired every thing . We even went into the registery and monked around a bit .

 I like my zune but I know have a brick for a music player .  Kinda sucks .

Wow, atleast I'm not the only one. I love my Zune, and music is my life. Luckily I still have my music on it. I hope Microsoft will come through and fix this, as they usually have before. Patience lads, patience.

Im pissed off right now!!! I was forced to update to the 2.0 and the dam thing wont stay open keeps saying" Microsoft Zune has stopped working" thanks MS!! Never had a problem with the software b4 and then i find out i cant install the old version....cool guess I didnt want any new songs on my MP3. Im running Vista Premium. Ive uninstall rebooted and reinstalled still no diff.  And how about an option for "report incident to MS" wheres that at????

 

Never mind..I deleted a folder in my music (b4 the program shuts down) and now everything works??? Maybe a syncing problem?

Hey, i ended every process with the word "zune" or "itunes" in it, but I still get the same response. I was able to load the software when I first got it; i even was able to change my Zune 30 OS to the new 2.0 system. The same message just keeps popping up.

I have windows XP.

hi i had the same problem so i checked on the registry and there where zune setup entries, so i erased both and reinstalled but nothing happened, so i went back and id a sistem restore way back before the update and i got the old sofware back, then it said that there was a new update and tried to download it but it got stuck an never acomplished he install, is there never an end for this?
