Erasing Things Off Computer W/O Losing it on Zune

I'm sure this has been posted a million times, but is there any way to erase videos off my computer without losing them on my Zune?

Nothing's more annoying than downloading a video, erasing it from the computer and then losing it from the zune.

I just tried it and it's not forgetting the device. I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything wrong.

If the device was attached when you chose to forget the device, disconnect the device and choose to forget it. I've forgotten many devices over the course of the product, but it seems people are seeing some issue... I'm trying to nail down what it is.

I could always "forget" the device, but when reconnecting it would never give me the option of guest sign-in.

I ran the "Zune Media Collection Reset Tool" and it immediately took care of that problem. Now I am a permanent guest on both of my computers.

One caveat to this approach...it will wipe out your "collection" within the Zune software (no, it won't delete the files from your hard drive, but it will remove them from your "collection"). It'll be necessary to drag and drop your files back into the software if you want to rebuild your collection.
