best cover song ever is it possible to out do the original?

i think the best cover was done by W.A.S.P. doing a cover of the classic Rolling Stones Paint it Black its great but thats just my opinion

original 30g purchased nov 2006 and 2nd gen 80g

I think there are a lot of covers that are better than the original and a lot that are way worse. My favorite would have to be Orgy's version of Blue Monday. I think it's better than New Order's version.

I like the version of "September" by Earth, Wind and Fire on Elite Beat Agents better than the original.

thats my favorite song ever written its flawless but yeah my fav cover by another band has to be

.........The Cure- Foxey Lady originally done by Jimi Hendrix its my favorite because its doesn't sound exactly like the real version and not because its better, its because what it sounds like is their version like how the cure would do it if they had written it themselves and that is how a great cover song should be defined. If i wanted to hear the original I'd just listen to that
