Anyone have their Red 80 yet?

I ordered mine the day after they were announced, and all I've got is an e-mail a week later saying "Due to an unprecedented demand..." And a $275 hole in my pocket. 

In calling the service center (both before and after the afformentioned e-mail) I've been blown off (very politely), lied to (less politely), and just generally frustrated.

I hope this is not typical... Sad [:(]

I don't have an update on mine yet either.  I ordered the evening of January 17th, and all I got was the order confirmation and the same delay email you received (on the 23rd).  I guess the email did say that it would ship in 7-10 days, and we're only at 6 days now, but it's kind of disappointing.  I didn't even bother calling the service center about the delay.  I called the day after I ordered to try to change the shipping address (they politely said it is impossible), and if they can't even do that, I figured that there's no way they will have any clue about the status of my order.

 

We'll probably learn more by hanging around this message board waiting for people to post when they get shipping confirmations. :)  I'll post when I get news on my order...

Nope, I ordered mine on January 16, got the email saying they were delayed the next week and haven't heard anything since.
I want my damn zune.

Yeah, ordered mine last tuesday the 22nd, I think. And have been anxiously waiting until I read this post. Now I guess I just wait until after you guys get yours. This is taking way too long. I haven't even gotten the " your tihs aint ready yet" e-mail that you guys got. -=sigh=- I've got a long way to go.

Geez, can the Zune division do anything right? Do they think they are a small company, and not many people want Zunes? Microsoft, you're moving up in the MP3 Player division, so make enough Zunes to surfice the customers and marketplace.  I expect no more shortages next year got it!!!??

Hopefully all of you have gotten your red 80 by now but I am still waiting for my BLACK 80!!  I ordered it 1/17.  Anybody have the same problem as me?  I guess it's because of the tatoo.  But I didn't even get an email to let me know of the delay as you Red Zuners got.  Each time I call, they say I should be getting an email "sometime" this week.  That was a week ago.  This really is ridiculous!!  They should at least update the ordering page now to denote the actual delay.  AND correct the statement of being for the Red Zune.  Because evidently the Black one is backed up too.

This doesn't make me feel good about my decision to switch from loyal iPod customer to the Zune.  My friends have been laughing loudly at me since day one! 

Got my Zune!

Well, whatever the issue is, at least it appears to be affecting all Zune Original 80 production. Not that delay is a good thing, but maybe we'll be getting something better out of the deal.

And just think how jealous your iPod friends will be when you show them the custom etching on the back!

yeah i ordered my red 80 on the 17th and i've been getting the run around. i've called twice. first they said it should be here towards the end of the month. then i called yesterday and they said it should be another 24 to 48 hours until you even receive the email saying your zune is on the way. WTF! What does that even mean about the email. Does that mean now it's in your state and it'll probably take another 3 days or something. this is pissing me off. i've never had a bad customer service experience with zune but this has to be one of the worst i've ever dealt with.

Hi QueenIce07,

The email that the support person is talking about is notice that it has been shipped. The notice will include a FedEx tracking code, which will (at long last) allow you to see exactly where in the world your Zune is, and guestimate when you will actually get it.

There are some companies out there that would offer a discount on a future purchase or add a free accessory as a thank you for waiting. Geez, the least they could do is throw in a free Zune Pass. What do we get... an effing e-mail. It doesn't seem that they are to concerned about their reputation or ensuring customer satisfaction, but I guess it doesn't matter since they charged my bank account two friggin weeks ago. They got my money so what do they care how long I wait. This is poo-poo.

First, it's only been three days since I've ordered. That aside, let me say this.

I'm sure it's not like people are just sitting on their behinds while their product is just gathering dust. I'm sure they're doing what they can do, but there must be a ton of orders for custom Zunes, red or other colored.

I understand how frustrating it is to order something and pay for something and not receive it (I ordered a backpack in October and still haven't gotten it) but nagging and whining isn't really going to do anything to speed up the process, is it?

Look at the bright side! At least most of you still HAVE an mp3 player. My Creative broke, hence me ordering a Zune and I have been musicless for almost a week.

Although, I do think some sort of free goody would be nice...

 A free goody, in my opinion, should be necessary. Especially after all the calls everyone keeps making. It seems to me that a lot of people are not too happy with zune. This worries me because as each day goes by, I feel more and more like buying it was a bad idea. What I hope happens is that our new ones don't have the same problem that I read on another forum where the zunes are restarting while playing music. I'll be pretty upset if I had to wait for a faulty product. So hopefully our wait will be worth it.

 

ps: I still haven't gotten an e-mail.
