Red 80 GB Zune Order

Red 80 GB Zune Order
I ordered my 80 GB red customized Zune on Jan. 15th 2008, and was promised an email when the unit shipped.

Today, just today, i got an email saying that the unit is running late due to high demand and it will take an additional 5-7 busn days for it to arrive.

My Zune was to be delivered no latter then this Friday.

How disappointing i am. Specially since i paid so much money for it.

Why was i not told of the 'high demand' for it when i first orderd, or with my purchase confirmation email. Me thinks that that should have been calculated on the site. Instead of getting customers hopes high that there unit will arrive in one week, instead it should be updated to say that it will take 3 weeks to a month for it to arrive.

I am pissed.

Anyone experiencing anything similar?

PS, i still don't have a tracking #, because i am told it's not even left china yet.

Yep I am on the same boat as you. Mine was ordered on the 16th, and I got that email yesterday. I was wondering too why it hadn't been shipped because I had ordered my boyfriends zune 80 originial a few weeks ago and it was shipped the day after I ordered it.
VERY frustrating.

It's been almost 3 weeks and yet nothing... no Zune delivery!

I keep getting the runaround and promises that it will be delivered before the 14th of February.

But it's been 3 weeks and nothing...

Anyone experiencing delays with there Zune original 80 GB red order? My is 3 weeks late.

This is why when something new comes out, you be sure to wait in line and be the first to get it, or wait until the crowd passes by. It should arrive, it just might take a really long time, but you won't be sorry. I love my zune.

Wow...now I'm starting to get concerned myself.  I should have it by Wednesday according to that e-mail, but if people who've ordered it on the 15th of Jan uary haven't received it yet, I wonder what my chances of actually getting it on time actually are.  If it isn't here on Valentine's Day, then I'm definitely demanding my money back, but I just hope that it doesn't come to that in the first place.

Same issue here.

I ordered on the 19th.  I was told that we are being 'compensated' for the delay.  I thought that was cool.

on the zune originals site on the right hand side, it says there will be a delay if you order a red zune...

after a few issues with their site, i (RE)ordered a zune sunday night, got it thursday morning, but went ahead and got a black on since I saw that delay message, and really couldn't care less on it being red or black

I been calling Zune order support everyday for the past week, and keep getting the same line. I was told today that i will definitally will be getting compesated but they don't know yet what that is.

I ended up writing to Bill Gates email address with my issue ticket # and order # to see if anyone there can get my stupid Zune deliverd.

At this point the only thing that can make up for this disaster is them giving me the $500 boom box for the Zune. But i don't see that happending! Crying [:'(]

The bottom line is that my birthday is on the 16th. My friends game me the money so i could order what i wanted for my birthday, i was so tierd of the iPod (which died just recently) and decided to give the Red Zune a chance.

This does not mash well with Microsoft, specially will all the other issues i've had with them. Between the Xbox, Xbox Live and Windows Live ID issues that i am currently dealing with, this is yet another slap in the face.

The way i see it, is that why should i not order what i want just because Microsoft messed up on that one. I did not have no delay msg when i orderd my Red Zune with the art work on the back.

I just really want my birthday present.

I am really almost ready to give up and go back to the iPod. The last time i order and costomized iPod on there website with an engraving for a friend on the back, i had it in less then a week. And it too came from China.

What is going on here?!!!

I just don't understand what the problem is. Should orders not be filled on a first come, first serlved kind of way?

Why the HUGE delay?

Maybe you guys can try contact the big guys directly.
