Price subscription service at $9.99 a month ... or less
And speaking of Zune Pass, at $14.95 it's far too expensive. It should start at $9.99 a month and go down from there for customers who pay for lengthy subscriptions in advance. These kinds of services aren't going to take off until they make good economic sense.

I think these kinds of services have taken off.  I remember being in the yahoo music beta two years ago.  Though, I did only paying $60 for the first year...

I've read multiple post by you and can only conclude one thing.......you are undoubtly dumb.  $14.95 a month for 3 to 4 million downloadable songs is outrageous?  Maybe you should go out and get a job instead of expecting the gov't to give you everything on welfare.  It's also possible you're not even an adult and do not understand that when you pay upwards of $100 or more for phone/cable/net services, your electric/gas will also run $70 to $100 depending on family size, food so you can eat everyday yeah there's another $100/wk or two depends on family size again. and even more then that a month on gas for your car $14.95 IS NOTHING.  You should just stop posting stupid crap for once.  This post is laughable.  I guess you think having to pay $1.00 on itunes for a song is a bargin (they don't have a subscription serivce by the way).  So you can get 15 songs a month on iTunes or unlimted downloads on the Zune Pass.......you shouldn't need to be smart to figure out which is the better bargin.

Are you joking? $15 per month is an AWESOME deal! The price of one CD a month for unlimited music is what makes me love my Zune so much more. In fact, when people ask about my Zune device, I always have to acknowledge my ZunePass. The only gripe I have is that not all labels are for it.

re: Price subscription service at $9.99 a month ... or less
I do agree it needs to priced at 9.99 or less.  The main reason for this I suppose is the general direction of going to No-DRM music that is rapidly gaining momentum. With subscription services, you don't get to keep your music.  If you switch to another player, you're out of luck.  I know this is partially true for those fifteen tracks on the iTunes store, but you can still atleast play them and even remove their DRM is you know what you're doing.   Also, there is a certain psychological thing that goes on with 9.99 subscriptions as opposed to 14.95, people are more open to it it seems.  I tihnk they'd get much better sales if it were ten dollars a month.

re: Price subscription service at $9.99 a month ... or less

I think that $9.99 is the magic number for mass appeal. Right now the $14.99 is right on that line where people have to think about it. If it was $9.99 that would drop below the "need to think about it" line for most people.

However, I do know that it won't go this low due to the music labels not wanting subscription services (even though it could save them). Even at 14.99 the zune make almost no profit from the zune pass.

What won't people complain about?  You'll spend $1.00 per song but you won't spend $14.95/mon for unlimited downloads?  How ridiculous is that?  As an adult with grown up problems, bills, etc etc $14.95/mon IS POCKET CHANGE.  So I eat out 12 times instead of 15 times BIG DEAL.

re: Price subscription service at $9.99 a month ... or less

not to mention for $14.99 a month you can use your pass on up to 3 or 4 devices ( not sure the exact number) I have content on two computes, A 80Gb Zune and a samsung digital media player. WOW  I am pretty confident that I am getting MORE than my MONEY'S WORTH when it comes to the zune pass at $14.99 a month. Microsoft knows this ( That all of us are getting our moneys worth at $14.99) SO DONT EXPECT A PRICE DROP ANY TIME SOON YOU ELECTRONIC DEGENERATES.

NOTE: BANDS NEED TO GET PAID TO CHEAPO'S   Surprise [:O]

re: Price subscription service at $9.99 a month ... or less
Well, I guess  it's all a matter of perspective. $15 ain't a big deal, especially if you are into downloading 3-5 CDs per month. I'm still on the fence about the Zune Pass purely on the basis of you lose your music when your subscription ends. It's just becuase if I decide that there isn't any more music I want for a few months and have subscribed for over a year, I lose a bunch of music and have wasted almost $200 or more. Now if you plan to make the Zune your end-all music device, this is for you. I guess it's really a matter of how long you plan to stick with the Zune services. Until I have made that decision, I'll stick to buying songs with Marketplace points or buying CDs. If I see the price drop to $10 a month though, I'll jump onto this Zune Pass train immediately. In the end, the Zune Pass, as with 90% of everything in life, is a matter of perspective, plain and simple.
