Zune 80 availability = Zero

I got tired of waiting for the Zune 80 originals plus I just found a Zune 80 at the Wal-Mart off of Bissonet & Beltway 8. When I called at 7AM they said they had 2, but when I got there @ 8AM there was only one. The Wal-Mart in Rosenberg shows online that they have "Limited Availability", so if you're still wanting one try there.

side note: I can barely hear the hard drive noise on this one. Not nearly as bad as the other 2.

Yes it's an awesome thread so far. I'm going to dub this event "The Great Zune80 drought of '07"

But Microsoft is very, very lucky that they gambled wrong on the Zune 4's & 8's selling more than the Zune 80's, because there seems to still be a good buzz about Zune this time around.

When I go to Wal-Marts, Targets, CC's & BB's to scout for Zune 80's it looks as if they can't even give away the Zune 4 & 8 - there are just so many of them.

Oh my....I had no idea my thread was still going strong.  I'm glad to hear that Zune80's are reaching many of you...and still really shocked at all the reports of no Zune 80's.

Hopefully I will be able to find one friday when I go out to buy one..........

I know what you mean about the UI not feeling right, but I have been researching the hell out of MP3/Portable Media Players, and I always end up with, "Do I want to keep my Zune 30 or get a Zune 80?" But if the Samsung P2 had at least 20 gigs (instead of 4 or 8) I would be a proud owner of an "iPod Nano Killer" That baby is touch screen, bluetooth, calendar, and clock. Oh well, hit me up with a PM when you see when the Zune 80 Originals are out, and I'll do the same for you too.

i live in vancouver, wa and it took me a week to find one out of target, curcuit city, and best buy. i found one at target and when i called the guy on the phone told me they had some like they had been there the whole time! i asked the guy and they only had two left not counting mine. its like ya it took you guys a week to finally get this so thats a lie

well, for those waiting on the best buy shipment to come, i called my closest best buy today and they told me to check back on wednesday nights and saturday nights, as those are the days they get shipments of new products. and since wednesday does coincide with Cesar's (from zuneinsider.com) reported date when zunes would be more widely available at stores, i'm hoping that its the day when i can finally get my zune 80 :D

DO you hear a noise when you play songs? It's not that loud, but I'm not going to pay $280 for any kind of background noise.

 

I wasn't paying $280 for a used Zune so I didn't have time to hear any noise. I returned right after I opened. I wasn't impressed, I was really looking forward to the Zune 80 but the UI didn't feel right and the resolution was terrible. It was a tad choppy also, hopefully it was just that Zune. The back looked very nice though.  I'm sure some excited little kid is going to open up a twice-used Zune for Christmas! lol Now I'm just waiting on an original 80 when they start selling.

Yeah, I just waited around for a while before getting mine.  I called a Wal-mart in East Providence, and they had two left, so I went over there and picked it up.  But this was just a few days ago.  Practically every other store in Rhode Island was sold out tho, and the online outlets were sold out too.  I felt very lucky to snag up this one.

Honestly, I almost don't care for a Zune 80 now since it is near impossible to find one here in Houston. The "buzz" is almost fizzled out for me. I am becoming more content with my (now year old Zune 30). The olny reason that I have not switched to another PMP is mostly because of the Zune Software - it's just too convenient!

The big downer for this Zune 80 shortage is that today there are still tons of Zune 4's & 8's. Just think of the Buzz Zune would have had for this past "Black Friday". It would have been perfect timing for it.

Oh, well maybe the Zune 80 Originals will get me pumped up again soon. Seriously though, I was wanting a Zune 80 for the last 2 weeks as if it were crack to a crack head! lol

Is anybody else still feinding for the Zune 80, or does the shortage make you want it more?
