Investments? You mean the whole $150 you spent minimum 2 years ago? Seriously you guys need to get off this stupid lawsuit nonsense. What damages do you have? How much do you think zune 30 gigs sell for? $50 max? You actually think a lawyer would take this case when maximum he can get per person is $50 or less? How about getting a job and buying a new one?
It really isn't important in the legal sense how much the investment is. $1.50, $150.00, or $15,000.00, consumers have spent money on a product.
A product that has failed because of manufacturer negligence. Damages caused are not what is important. I could easily buy a new digital media player (after all of this, it sure as sunrise wont be a zune). That isn't the point. The point is accountability. MS has displayed no accountability whatsoever for the problem, which they have admitted was due to faulty programming of the firmware. And there are thousands of lawyers in this country who would love to take on a company like microsoft simply for the judgment to add to their courtroom portfolio, knowing that winning the case would pay for all expenses as well as earn them the right up their own hurly fee for future clients.
Yes most of them are chasing the mighty dollar, and like you, care little for what is right and proper compared to taking home coin, but I have already asked around, and even in my home town, there are lawyers who would jump at the chance to nail Microsoft tot he wall pro bono just to be able to say they did it.
