The problem is more with ease of use than major issues, although there are some very aggrevating problems.
-If you set up the Zune on your computer as the Home, every time you plug up it will start deleting all your songs if you've deleted them from your computer. Or if you don't go and change your settings to Manual Sync, you will have the same problem. But even if you select Manual Sync, but still have the computer as the Zune Home, it will still delete songs automatically. This shouldn't be a default. The software should prompt you on what you'd like to do.
-I like to utilize playlists for different things; e.i., 70's, 80's, Workout, wife's favorite songs, etc. It doesn't make any sense why the playlists don't show under device when you plug in. Once you create your playlist, unplug and go on your way, thats it. If you come back and plug in, the playlist don't show under device; only the Collection. So if you want to add a new song to one of your playlists, you can't. Why have the playlists on the Collection if you can't sync back on the device? This is an issue I would love to have resolved and would ease my greatest frustrations!!!
-I want to edit on the device. Its so time consuming to move a song to the collection, edit, and then sync back in.
-I want an Exporer window like my other smaller named, but much easier to use devices. I can go to My Computer, and it will show as a separate drive. I right click and it opens a window to the device where I can edit, drag/drop with ease.
-Where is the search option? I have hundreds of artists and it sucks to scroll through the entire alphabet to find what I'm looking for.
-If you have say 10 songs that have the artists as unknown, you can't try to edit each one unless you move them to the playlist where you have access to all categories. Under Music in the Collection, you can only edit Album/Song individually. I shouldn't have to download a separate metatag program to fix that before I drag to Zune. Too many steps.
Its a shame that MS can't get some of the simple things down, where smaller competitors make things much more user friendly.
