re: How to Reboot, Reformat, and Restore your Zune device

Those button combinations do nothing.  I can only reboot my device with the buttons.  Pressing Back and Right keys didn't do anything.  I even held for a few seconds.

Sounds like you missed the step about rebooting the device, and then using the init disk key commands a the right part of the reboot...

I have a Zune 30, and I cannot format through my device.  This will be the 3rd time I am having to format just to get my device to sync properly.  I call Zune support and I have to go through the same stepts everytime.

My device then syncs, then the problem comes back the next time I need to sync.

Have you tried reinstalling the device firmware?  ("Initialize disk" in the OP for this thread.)

re: How to Reboot, Reformat, and Restore your Zune device

Step 1 Connect Zune to your PC.

Step 2 On your PC, open the Zune software and restore the Zune device firmware.

and i do it and then it says error C00D124F

CAN'T SYNC BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ENOUGH SPACE ON YOUR ZUNE. DELETE SOME ITEMS, THEN TRY AGAIN.
