re: Zune 80 availability = Zero

80GB is available at www.zuneoriginals.com !!!!  Only one color, but like AC/DC says "Back in black, I hit the sack...I've been gone too long, I'm glad to be back."   So one color option is fine with me.  :)

I ordered mine before posting this.....so y'all have at it!

re: Zune 80 availability = Zero

Got mine last night at Target.  I was getting tired of being patient because I use my Gigabeat every day and since I dropped it, it will only work when plugged in so the time when I need it most (during my work commute), I didn't have my tunes.

Went back to Targets site and called every store in my area that said Available or Limited Availability.  Found one at the Target in Burke VA just 11 miles from my house.  Called them up and made sure the guy knew the difference between the 8 and 80 and he said he had only one and would hold it for 24 hours for me.  Ran out after work and could not believe it was really there.  I was kinda expecting to be let down again.

Of course I immediately needed to call my best friend and tell him I got one but strangely enough couldn't get any reception so I had to wait to rub it in but im glad I finally found one.

I'm really impressed with the thing.  I prefer to have an EQ but I am quite satisfed with the sound quality.  The manual is a bit scan but to be honest, it tells you everything you need to know.  If you can't figure out how to operate the Zune within 10 minutes you probably shouldn't even have it.  Thats how easy it is to operate it.

Installation was quick and easy and the earbuds are just great.  I would say they sound even better than that Sony earbuds I used with my Gigabeat.  I hope for the rest of you that it won't be much longer before you can get your hands on one.

re: Zune 80 availability = Zero

Yes, yes.....let me add to that.... It's not called Plexi-glass, it's called an acrylic sheet. It's not called dry wall, it's called gypsum board, and so on....

I'll agree with "uneducated" over brainwashed for sure. Anyways it's fun to be snarky and correct someone with "this is not an iPod, it's a Zune". Or be even more of an a-hole: "it's not an mp3 player, it's a Portable Media Device." LOL!

Anyway, the great news about the Zune 80's currently low availability is that it's becoming more of a hot item for the holidays. Maybe by next year we'll see signs at electronic stores that read "MP3 Players/ iPods/ Zunes"Cool [H]

Just like not all facial tissue is called Kleenex.  I don't call it brainwashed, but uneducated.

Yeah, I was so ticked because of so many electronic store employees did not know WTF a Zune 80 was. They are all too brainwashed and think that all MP3 players are called iPods. I just hate that when you're on a plane and they tell you to turn off your laptop, gameboy and iPods. And I'm like, "oh I'm sorry this is not a damn iPod" lol!

Anyways, the good news is that the Zune seems to be going a lot stronger this year. So let those accesories roll in!

Same here,  I ordered one online from Best Buy since the people in the store had no idea what I was talking about when I asked for a "Zune 80".  You'd think people that work in the "MP3 player" section would keep up with new products in the MP3 player catagory, guess not.

They charged my card over the Holiday weekend, but the status is still "BACKORDERED"

Which reminds me...has anyone who ordered one from Amazon recieved their Zune80 yet?  Just curious.

re: Zune 80 availability = Zero

The day before Thanksgiving I went online and found a Target store in Kansas City that had some available. I figured better try before the holiday, or they would be gone for sure  When I got there, they had ONE left...and it was tucked in the lower right hand corner of the showcase, almost impossible to see....heh. Needless to say, I bought it. So far, I love it. The only complaint I have so far isn't with the player itself, its finding a case for it to hook to your belt. Seems nobody has one for sale yet. heh.

For I dipt into the future, Far as the human eye could see... Saw a vision of the world, And the wonder that would be...
